Can you imagine the sort of tall tales people would tell about a 3rd rate center like Howard if he played in the 50s-60s? :lol
Strangled it to death with his bare hands (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSNfAGmpQHE)
Flew around in a cape and dunked on skyscrapers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz5HaAxP3cM)
Jumped so high he took a 20 off the top of the backboard and left a rack of baby back ribs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCNK6VaBXeY)

Wilt was taller and had a documented 39" vertical (could probably go higher though), which is better than Howard's.

1) The rim wasn't at 14 feet.
2) lets do some math
-Howard's standing reach is 9'3.5"
-In order for him to even touch a 14' rim he would need a vertical jump of 56.5 inches.
-The diameter for a basketball is 9.55 inches.
-All in all, Howard would need a 66.05 vertical AT MINIMUM to dunk on a 14 foot rim.
Odds are that it was a 12 foot rim which would only require a vertical of 42.05 inches.
fkcing rubes on this board will believe anything.

The giraffe is 14' tall, not the rim. Anyone with eyes can see the rim is not much more than a foot taller than the regulation rim.

really puts into perspective how overrated Westbrook is at dunking, 6'3 and can't even get up as high as an absolute snap stick Wilt who weighs more.
36.5 inches, lmao

Wilt's vertical was 'documented' at 39" the same way Shaq's documented bench press topped out at 550 lbs. :lol
Wilt's vertical was 24".

Never saw anything that even remotely hinted at him getting anywhere near 40 inches.

If you draw a line from the back of the rim, it intersects with Wilt's armpit.

"Wilt was listed at 7'2, but probably coulda been even taller than that."
"Wilt was documented as averaging 50 points per game, but it was probably even more than that."
"Wilt said he slept with 20,000 women, but it was probably even a higher number than that if I had to guess."

You're not very bright, are you?
The hell is up with your weird, anti-Westbrook agenda and his "poverty vertical" and dunking ability? He's arguably the most athletic PG in NBA history. Get over it.

Dwight repping 365 lbs on the bench (http://www.stack.com/video/2305637272001/dwight-howard-benches-365-pounds/)
Adjusted for early 60s hyperbole and propaganda, that's the equivalent of lifting a small Midwestern suburban town.

THIS.
Chamberlain had a KNOWN 12'9" reach, and that was in the late 60's. A younger Wilt had eyewitness accounts of touching the top of the backboard.

[QUOTE]Allen was amazed to see Wilt leap and grab one of the coach's beloved 12-foot rims during practice. (Chamberlain also lettered in track and could clear 6' 6

KNOWN... but never actually documented anywhere. Wilt had a 24" vertical, 32" when off a running start. This is known.
