It's an interesting idea. Does it matter if 2/3 of the teams in the league are in the playoffs?

First he starts randomly throwing money at players who aren't asking for it and now this. He's clearly lost it.

Terrible idea.
Not surprising considering the source.

With MLB expanding their playoffs and the NFL discussing the option, wouldn't be surprising if this happens. I'd be more intrigued by it if it was the 20 best records in the league instead of 10 from each conference.

He knows his team has no shot at making the playoffs with current format. :oldlol:

How would a 10-team Conference playoff even work? That is the most awkward number of teams for a bracket. The entire playoff format would have to be revamped.

Yea...it would be a terrible change and you just have to disregard it coming from that source.
Just ignore it/him....he's acting like a moron (too common for a man of his intelligence)

Eliminate conferences, eliminate divisions, everyone plays each other twice, take the top 12 teams and play 7 games playoff series.

Mine as well play a 50 game season. Take a week off and play the all star game. Then have a 30 team Double elimination best of 7 per round tourney with seeding based on the 40 game season.

I like, but why not 3 games each? Helps with tie breakers and at 2 games, the season is kind of short. But at the same time, contract to 21 teams. That gives you a 60 game season, and if over the same length, then you get rid of all back to backs. Players are more rested and less injured. Makes the product better. Also, less sucky teams, more concentrated talent.
Start by contracting the Kings. Cousins goes to LA, Rondo back to Boston.

Teams already have over a 50% chance of making the playoffs and now wants to increase those odds to 66.67%? :biggums:
I don't think any other league has it that high.

If it's 3 games, then that's not as balanced. Some teams will benefit by playing a good team at home 2/3 times vs the other and thus can skew the W-L record (albeit slightly)
There are plenty of tiebreakers that they can use besides head to head

Because if there are 3 games each, I think the players would think that is too much and I think that would be too much...
Besides in the interest of fairness, you don't want Houston whining because they have to play at Spurs twice, and the Heat gets to play the Warriors only one at GS...or something like that.
But if we are going to eliminate teams, then I think your idea would work fine.

Way to project confidence in your roster...
how the f.u.ck would it even work?
10 teams, 5 win their series and then what?

I'm guessing the first two seeds have the first round bye (skip the round) and the 3-10 seeds go at it.

The proposal is this:
1st round (best of five) 2-2-1
7th vs 10th
8th vs 9th
These 2 winners joint to six first seeds in conference quarter-finals, and then as usual
This format can be weird, but it is the same that was used in 1974 and 75
In these years 5 teams per conference advance to play-off, then 4th vs 5th play a best-of-three serie, and winner play against 1st the best-of-seven conference semifinals, as 2nd vs 3rd
I think Cuban
