This. Honestly, I love the photoshopped one from the movie. It is weird seeing his eyes, and how do you not do the lips? The lips are one of the most identifiable parts of Apocalypse.

Not surprised. I wish they had actually went with the Age of Apocalypse story line. Could have been a multiple movie story and they could have done justice to one of the best villains in the Marvel universe.

X-Men would work well as a TV series mixing teen drama with Action adventure. Since fox holds the rights I don't see why they haven't done this yet. It would work much better than Gotham or SHIED.

I enjoyed First Class and DOFP alot but I can wait till DVD on this one. Deadpool and Civil Wars already got my money this year.

I liked the film.

It felt like the end of the prequel trilogy and had some nice moments going back to First Class. Magneto had the most interesting character arc but everything else was blockbuster versus the charm of First Class. The En Sabah Nur character had a "Mummy" feel to it. I thought he would be more powerful but I'm unfamiliar with the character. His makeup was distracting at times--I can appreciate the practicality but in a cgi driven industry it felt a bit mis-used. The new additions to the cast helps appeal to the teenage generation, but you can't help but want an X-Men film with everyone in their prime at times during this film. I complained once mid-way through the film that it lacked action but the climax delivers--probably the best in the series.

The movie is worth the price of admission for Fassbender's performance alone. Then you also get the best Wolverine/Weapon X sequence committed to film so far, and an albeit over-the-top, fairly impressive final battle.

Complaints:

As with most XMen movies, the movie suffers from having too many characters to introduce. The first hour plus of the movie is easily just different character introductions.

We don't really get to see the four horsemen in action much. There is almost no character development for Angel, Psylocke, or Storm.

A few too many unneeded flashback scenes to First Class.

Mystique spends most of the movie in JLaw mode, and uses her powers only once or twice.

So I actually really enjoyed this movie. It pretty much completely ignores the plot of all the other X-Men movies, and resets the entire universe... but as a stand-alone movie, I thought it was great. I could see how watching it in a theater would be long. Luckily I watched it on the couch.

I loved watching Jean Grey go Dark Phoenix on Apocalypse. I kind of guessed that's how he would have to be defeated. I just wasn't sure they were gonna unleash that secret because it went against the established plot of every other X-Men movie. Hopefully they stick with this newly created universe for awhile and build on it.
