He has long strides like Manu, but that's about it.
Those tomahawks doe :applause:
LOL
You see what I mean though?
Not one person in either play made any attempt whatsoever to stop ball.
One guy in the top gif made a jab and fake from the wing, which on my AAU teams, would get you benched immediately as it serves absolutely no purpose.
Similar to a CB in football who cant decide whether to rush the scrambling QB or leave his man open, so they stand in the middle and leave them both open instead.
He does throw it down hard AF though.

"The way he ran point during the clutch. His euro step and his athleticism. Even his turnovers. And yet the team plays better when he was on the floor just like manu.
Yeah it was the summer league but he looks very polished."
I agree with this post from another unnamed forum. I see a lot of manu in his game. Especially those crazy crosscourt passes in midair.

He showed some brilliance in Summer League. He's gonna be buried on the Spurs though. Probably play in the D-League.

Reminds me of a combo of Jordan and Bird, except more athletic, a better build, higher basketball IQ, better shooter, and he gets to benefit from Pop's system.

the kid's nice - i like the first highlight above - that pull-up 10 footer in traffic - that's the kind of shot that's MOST available down the stretch of tight games when the defense is turned all the way up, so 3-and-D doesn't come as easily.
Btw, look at that open paint and middle of the floor in the 2nd highlight - you never saw guys waltz down an open lane for dunks like that back in the day, because all 10 players would be occupying the middle of the floor - so he'd need a jumpstop or an extra move in there - no waltzing allowed back in the day.
But this is the kind of open paint and middle of the floor that today's 3-point spacing allows (spacing clears the middle of the floor and draws defenders to the perimeter).. Of course the spacing is exacerbated by defensive 3 seconds, which also keeps defenders out of the lane.

I feel like this guy is really good, I just don't think pop will give him minutes this season. Maybe when Ginobili and Parker are resting, but that's it.
