Has there ever been a better five teams in one conference in any given season? It is crazy to think one of these teams will not have homecourt advantage in round 1.

It could happen again but the Mavs have lost to much in the Offseason so it is probably going to be 4 out of 5 this season. I could see the Rockets, Spurs, Grizzlies and the Pelicans all wining 50 plus games this season.

Looking strong for sure, all five of this teams could win 60 games. I'm sure some of them will fall a bit short, but they seem like locks for 55 wins if healthy.

The sad thing about this... Is that there will me multiple teams with at least a .500 or better record and still miss the playoffs from the West... While the East will have multiple teams with losing records that will still qualify for the playoffs.

It's time for the league to change the rules and start allowing the 16 teams with the best record to qualify for the playoffs regardless of which conference they play in. Tournament of the best 16 teams. Because minus a few teams... The Eastern Conference is an absolute joke!

Just think that at least one of those teams are guaranteed to be knocked out before the WCF. My money's on the Clippers.

As long as you don't have the Spurs/Clippers in the first round again. The Warriors shouldn't have such an easy path this time as well. The Thunder should be healthy. The Spurs, Clippers, and Rockets have all improved. The West is scary indeed.

Mavs only chance to make the playoffs is another magical season by Dirk, something like 22/8 on 50/40/90.

Don't see a season like this from him tbh, he will play FIBA Basketball till October.

I don't ever recall seeing a conference with this many teams with a LEGIT shot at winning it all. Usually, there are 2-3 teams with a legit chance and a couple more below that level. I wouldn't be shocked one bit if any of these teams rose to the top. On paper, each team has the talent. It's going to be one heck of a season.

people are really overrating the Clippers, Thunder and Rockets

There is 2-3 teams with a legit chance i don't think the Clippers or Rockets are quite legit

How so? Clips have won 56, 57 and 56 games the last 3 years and have strengthened their weaknesses. They are legit and have the talent. It's about putting it together and stopping the choking.

As long as the Thunder have a healthy Durant, WB and Ibaka, they can beat anyone.

And Houston made the WCF without Beverly and Monty last year and they also added Lawson.

On paper, all these teams have the talent to realistically compete for a title.

Rockets yes. The same Clippers with Josh smith, PP, and Lance isn't impressive to you? A healthy Thunder team isn't a contender?
