It's basically a collection site for trolls and it has been for a long while. It's the basketball forum with the most traffic I think and that's probably because of lurkers coming by to watch the animals throw shit at each other. It works for the owner so it just keeps going like that. Most posters that actually want to talk good basketball go to smaller more dedicated forums now and places like this are just wastelands for the fringe.

The problem now is majority of the Lebron stans are banned and we have an oversurplus of Kobe fans who don't get banned. It's all about balance and guys like imnew09/mr jabbar/mark madsen/droid101/goatbe/AirTupac/etc don't get banned when dubeta/JT123/Dragic do get banned. This is increasingly bad when you factor in that Kobe is pretty much on his last legs and Lebron is at the peak of his powers. So we get too many stans talking about an irrelevant player and not enough about the best players. Also the hating in the opposite sense.

Although I agree with Kblaze, there weren't as many posters so it felt a bit more personal back then, for the better and for the worse. But I don't think the % of good / bad posters and threads has changed significantly.

There was no otc in the time I meant. There was something called a smack forum for the express purpose of letting people fight without messing up the nba board. But there was no off the court....which led to a whole other thing. The OTC isn't that old
