Isn't the Lakers coach the same way ?
Lakers executives have long defended their use of advanced statistics, disputing the public perception that the 16-time NBA champions are behind the times.
The organization, however, is taking steps to strengthen the analytics side of things, with plans to create a position for a staff member to facilitate better communication between the basketball staff and those crunching the numbers.

Hiring Vlade as the GM is one of the funniest basketball-related things I've seen.
They're in win-now mode and they're still gonna miss the Playoffs. :oldlol:

Analytics aren't very valuable for evaluating prospects.
Analytics are pretty valuable for evaluating players on other teams
Analytics are really valuable for evaluating your own team and line-up combinations

We've got our superstar already. We can't wait to develop draft picks. We either go all out this year... Or lose him. It's a simple choice.
Small market teams don't have it easy like the Spurs.

Anyone with a brain should know that you're supposed to use analytics AND the "eye test" to determine whether or not a guy can play. Using only one or the other is foolish.

the bolded above is true.. that's the value of advanced stats..
but regarding player evaluation of any kind, an experienced eye test will always tell the viewer dimensions more than any stats ever could.

Analytics told the lakers to pass on Okafer for Russell. Why have a big that will contribute right away and is NBA ready over a point guard project that will take 3-4 years to be good. Why? Potential and analytics say that Russell has the potential to be a star...probably, maybe, crossing fingers.
The kings are a disaster. I think the kings and lakers are becoming rivals as the Pacific division basement teams.

Jerry West said he will not pass up on Russell and even though he works indirectly with the Lakers, analytics can't top that. And I agree analytics is not good tool to evaluate prospects.

So they have been irrelevant for a decade now.:oldlol:
The city itself Sacramento is like an armpit of Northern California. Chris Webber did not even want to go there and would never gone there if he has a choice. it turn out good for him though.

What's worse is that they have the longest championship drought in NBA history. They haven't won since they were the Royals, way back in the 50's.

Toronto sucks and no they haven't. I can obviously admit that and I don't run my mouth over other franchises. I can state facts. Why take it is I'm hating on the Kings ? They have been bad for a long time now too.
I actually do want them to succed this season and make the playoffs too. But they still don't have enough shooting and this could all blow up in their face with all of egos on board.
