So basically the Mavs have signed every undrafted prospect they like to a partially guaranteed contract over the last few days to give them a camp workout against legit NBA players to see whether they can find another diamond in the rough like Hassan Whiteside.

They aren't trying to tank at all. What could possibly make you think that based on the signings since DJ backed out?

Everything they've done has been to try and improve the team short term.
