I try not to. I'm really ugly and I don't want to scare women. When I look at men, all I can imagine is my shit getting pushed in. I was molested when I was younger and maybe that's why.

Walking with your head down to avoid eye contact is some straight serial killer stuff. I try to look at everyone and give 'em a smile and a nod.

I want them to witness the greatness.

Help for what, bro? I accept who I am. I am just trying to make the best out of it and stay out of jail. I just don't want to bother anyone, so I try to leave them alone. No one wants to talk to me anyway.

I ****ing hate when this happens. when its just two people on an otherwise empty street or whatever.

Especially when you realize you'll be coming to a collsion from like 30 feet away. I've actually always been meaning to get peoples opinions on this, but then I forget later. Funny that the thread was made.

Do you A) give them the eye contact the entire ****ing time, or B)do you awkwardly look away and then glance at them at the last second to smile or say hi? Or C) Just dont even look at them at all. I usually do option B, but I'm not going to lie sometimes I cross the street or something to avoid the situation since it feels awkward.

I kinda dont even think when passing guys, but when i see a girl and then i notice her fixing hair and shii, i try to holla , you kind of can tell when it will work, and im not much of convo starter except some jokes i try to land

you stare straight ahead use your peripherals and dart glances if you like. i'm usually in a hard concentrated stare or casually observing the shit around me when i'm walking down a street, so unless they look at me i don't usually make a point of looking at them. unless for some reason i want to, which is probably about a third of the time.

i like the nod. smile is harder though. if i'm really feeling adventurous i'll drop an ambiguous comment about their apparel or accessories.

Pretty/fine female- smile, say how u doing or say something else,
Fat chicks-give a small fake smile/smirk , say nothing
Guys-say nothing or not look at them

Yes. Sometimes I even tip my beret and offer to sit down at a cafe to munch a baguette whilst sipping an espresso with them and discussing Sartre.

In my office, we have these long hallways that are like that.

Like, I can see someone walking 100 feet away, and there's no turns, just a straight stretch.

If it's a female, I always say hi (the type of hi depending on her age).

If its a male, I usually stare straight ahead unless I know them well enough to say more than two words to.

you should ask them why they didn't make eye contact, that's always a good ice breaker

People confuse me because usually I'll look at them and nod or say hi, but than they don't look at me and just keep walking. So sometimes I don't make eye contact and just keep walking but I get the feeling that I was totally rude.

Thats what I mean, I always greet females. Younger ones with a more youthful hello, older women with a smile and a 'good afternoon'. Older males, I will say hello to outside of work.

Anyone who is older than me, or not a friend, I refer to as sir/ma'am, even if that person is about the same age as myself. In person, on the phone, in emails...

Just the way I roll.

I don't think I've ever called someone sir or mam. But I guess we don't really do that here in Australia.

Brothas always get the "head nod" no matter what. Sistahs usually get a "how u doing, lady?" Spanish peeps get the hand up "high" signal, and white peeps usually get a "hi" or "how are u". Seniors always get get a "hello sir or maam" from me no matter what nationality.

I used those classes of peeps because that's who Im around the most. A positive attitude goes a lonway in regards to how peeps treat you, I will say.

I don't think I've ever called someone sir or mam. But I guess we don't really do that here in Australia.

that was born of mr stewart, my grade six teacher who told many stories including the time he slammed his car into a moose and drove his watch into his wrist so that he didn't notice it under the skin for a full 24 hours. we are pretty sure that wasn't true. but he INSISTED we call him sir and that's the value of an authoritative education.
