Orlando had a quietly solid off season.

We only lost players who would have clogged out rotations and we strengthened our bench which was a big weakness. If we'd found a shot blocker it would have been better though.

Seems about right to me overall.

7 of the top 8 teams in the West...with the idiotic Mavs missing the playoffs and giving the Celtics a solid pick.

Anthony Davis will have a great year but his cast is still shitty and they are all injury prone.

Mavs have a very thin front court. Dirk hasn't been the same and everyone else in the front court is barely in the league. Their bench isn't that great and don't know how much you can rely on Wes & Deron.

Lakers will surprise people. Russell takes the ball out of Kobe's hands and allows the offense to run smoother so people can get open shots. Between Kobe,Young,Lou Will, Clarkson, & Russ scoring will not be an issue. Better defense with Bass (who should start over Randle) & Hibbert. Good bench too not much drop off in quality of play when we go to the bench.

Jazz are right there and it will be a tight race but I think the Lakers & Jazz fill out the last spots.

Kings. All signs pointing to them having a awful season in the locker room, FO, and personnel which will make its way on to the court. They have the talent though. Cant wait until those Rondo, George Karl stories pop up :lol

Suns are pretenders. I don't trust Knight & Bledose to lead the team to the playoff, both players are pretty inconsistent. Tyson is solid but outside of him everyone else on the team is below avg. or not impactful enough.

I think for the Lakers to make it to the playoffs, a lot has to go right, which can happen to mostly any team in league.

Kobe would have turn back the clock and Hibbert has to come up big at center.

Bulls, Heat, and Hawks over the pelicans. Otherwise, solid.

if dedmon keeps his fouls down, he's the shotblocker/rim protector

Comical to me that the author mentioned health for GSW just for something to mention, yet not only failed to mention it for the teams with actual health concerns, but literally didn't even mention it a second time.

Edit: Also misrepresentative thread title. Big difference between ranking teams' offseasons (what title says) and a Power Ranking done in the summer.

How are the Kings at 23 and Dallas at 16?

It's COMICAL.

the only thing really wrong with it is they are clearly just putting Warriors #1 out of respect..

everybody knows it's actually San Anton followed by Cleveland with the other contenders close behind..

I'd also swap Thunder for Rockets but I see how they're a bit doubtful because of the coaching change..

Rockets just keep proving the doubters wrong.

Are the Pelicans really better than the Bulls and the Hawks?

I think Spurs should be lower - they are integrating a major piece playing major minutes into their system. Mid-range shots is not exactly a staple of the Spurs offense. The other contenders have been together much longer - that consistency matters a lot (especially to the Spurs).

I'd have Cleveland at #1 - just because they're a shoe-in for the Finals. Whoever comes out of the West will have been through a blood bath to get there. I think LAC have fixed most of their weaknesses so they should be higher.

Kings too high.

Is this based on projected win/loss?

If so, I don't see the Pelicans over the Hawks, even with Carroll. They'll win more games out East (around 51) imo.
