Like if he left and decided he wants to be the man (without Durant in the picture) on a team built around him, would he look better than Harden on the Rockets?

If you think he's better than Harden now (I think its a valid argument) then do you think he would look much better in the new environment?

Just look at how he looked last year without Durant. Yes he would look better than Harden on the Rockets and he's definitely a better all around player than Harden.

no..... harden is better

I doubt he leaves to get a team built around him. he will unlikely get better teammates. if I had to guess I'd assume pretty close to harden success. if a little short of that.

Yes. He is already a great playoff performer.

We already saw this last year.

Yes, his raw numbers would undoubtedly be better, but the percentages would likely be a bit lower.

Factor in his defense though, and he's the better choice.

yeah he would do just fine, especially if he joined a young talented team with a quality big and heady players ala bucks sixers pelicans

Harden's defense last year was fantastic.

I wouldn't in a million years take Harden over Westbrook.

That's why your team will stay in the lottery.

He would have insane numbers but he wouldn't win shit as the man.

So the majority opinion is that Westbrook wouldn't have the same team success but would look great(er) individually?

depends where he went but substitute westbrook and afflalo or jr smith or somebody, in place of harden and lawson and next year looks about the same for the rockets.

though that consensus has more to do with harden's glaring deficiencies than anything special we don't already know about westbrook

this. he would average something like 30 6 8 on 42.32.85

nice raw numbers, lots of triple doubles, little to no team success without a true first option player like durant. harden is much more efficent, and the defense thing i don't even really look at that, because westbrook isnt guarding the opposing team's best perimeter player either, and he's not shutting down other point guards regularly either.

harden will put up similar numbers on higher shooting percentages with fewer triple doubles, fewer turnovers and, imo harden is more clutch.

No he wouldnt because I cant see a team building a better team around Westbrook than the Rockets have built around Harden

Thats not a shot at GoatBrook, more of a compliment to the Rockets organization. If Dwight was healthy this year Rox win 60 plus games.

He already looks better....the better question is if you would actually win with him chucking away as he pleases.

Harden is arguably a better scorer than GOATBrook. But I'd take GOATBrook everytime, dude plays will literally guard you from the bench.

Westbrook lacks the ability to close out games

All I know is that it should've been Harden + Durant starting with Westbrook off the bench as the spark. Fck signing Ibaka.

He doesn't have the passing ability of Harden but he rebounds better and can score quicker due to his ability to just overwhelm with athletiscm.

He plays defense and it actually charges his teammates.

Harden is the better scorer and playmaker. He got better on defense last year while Russ got worse on defense.

I'd take Harden over Westbrook on my team, not to mention Westbrook's style of play is much more prone to injuries.

It's a stupid argument. Only time we saw Westbrook shine last year without Durant was with a pretty terrible supporting cast. Harden has a better supporting cast, so of course his results will be better. Westbrook is pretty comfortably an overall better player though.
