At least six people were stabbed at Jerusalem's annual Gay Pride Parade on Thursday. The suspected attacker was identified as the same man behind the attack on the 2005 parade, recently released from prison.

The difference is, Israel has one of the largest gay parades in the world and Tel Aviv is very liberal and westernized (can't wait to go back, it's an awesome city). Let me know when Iran, Syria, or Palestinian territories have a gay parade.

Israeli officials from Netanyahu down have resolutely condemned the attack, whereas in some neighboring nations the government leaders and policy makers are the ones to legally put homosexuals to death using a strict interpretation of Sharia law.

Tel Aviv is the greatest city ever by ME standards, but still a volatile place with tons of wackjob religious folks walking around. So it's not surprising to see something like this pop up. Lucky it was just one old and weak repressed gay dude who didn't manage to kill anybody, I guess. It's not hard to get fully automatic firearms in Israel, so it could have been a lot worse.
