One hit wonder.

I couldn't sit through the entire song. It got annoying fast.

Also, do you notice how YT are filled with wanna-be stars, especially the women, that sing in folk. Every damn song they cover is with a folk version.

tweety indie cringe is the worst genre of music.

This girl has a good voice but the way she uses it is obnoxious and her song is annoying. I don't know if they're doing it on purpose but every line she sings, it sounds like the record is skipping. It doesn't sound good. I hope she goes away soon.

I think that might just be video quality. Fallon's voice sounded like it did the same thing when he introduced her. I bet she has some staying power tho. Seems like she is a pop act that might be given a little more credibility because it sounds more rock inspired.

She has no credibility, has nothing special about her, and is shit and sings shit songs.

She is no Lorde.

My first thought was that she is the opposite of pop. Out there in a T-shirt doing her own shit.

But this is her first thing ever so who knows...

judge her by her generic and bland top 40 radio music. Not her 'down-to-earth antipop' image that the marketing department backing her wants you to think she has.

That's not what happened here. Fallen found her on YouTube and demanded she be on the show. That was her first time ever on TV.

It is good to know she is able to connect well with her target demographic.

Wow so much hate ! Alessia's dope !! Think she's on def jam now . I remember hearing about her a couple months ago . . Seems like she's slowly blowing up .

"Here" has great lyrics and production (forgot producer names-think there's two) but that performance was whatever . . I've been reconnecting with my roots and playing blues/jazz piano so im def digging the lil licks you hear in the background off the original . . Been trying to create blues hop so I can dig it . . She performed on a TED Teen Talk . Check out the music video ,you guys might like it more than her spot on Fallon .

Here's her doing impressions of ppl (first time I heard of her)

P.s. she has 3 mil views now . . She had like 100k ~month ago
P.p.s lorde whole act is ****en whack
P.p.p.s nick young what's wrong with her delivery ? Her tone ? Her cadences ? drop some real vocal Knowledge/critique on us ?

Anyway - back to new tame impala album . .

^^^ I don't think the video is going to change their minds, they find that smooth rhythm and blues style she is going for 'annoying'. I personally dig that style but I get it, it feels repetitive, even though nothing is actually repeated.

I don't like Lorde at all but I get the comparison...this chick could follow a similar path

I don't think she is a 'pop act' now but that might be where she is headed...real soon too

This girl is like a blander version of Norah Jones. That's the best way to reach mass market though. She is smart to target the Norah Jones fans demographic.

She is no Norah Jones, that I agree with 100%

She didn't target any audience , the label she signed a contract with is molding her future as an upcoming pop artist . She's young , her mind is malleable but give her a chance .

Try not to compare a new/upcoming artist to a seasoned vet on Blue Note .

Yeah there weren't loads of marketing money going into this girl...there might be NOW but not when Fallon put her on.

She had a YT video go viral, Fallon came across it and he personally went out of his way to get her on the show. She wasn't thrown at him, he threw himself at her. She didn't have a team of agents searching out the best demographic for her to cash in on. At least I don't think so, that is the impression I got.

Since Fallon did that, Def Jam may think they are sitting on a gold mine, and now she probably does have a marketing team putting in work and attempting to transform her into a pop star cash cow.

Yes, and she paid for the printing and production of that single Jimmy Fallon is holding up at the start of the video with money she saved from selling lemonade to her neighbors.

That is her up coming album, it isn't out yet, nothing has been printed or produced yet

I'm sure Def Jam will dump a ton of money into it now though...

At least change the video in the OP. It skips and plays at an increased speed.
