Without Oscar and Magic I have a top 5. Why? Magic and Oscar are not true PGs. Plus any basketball fan knows those 2 played and defended any position.

Stockton
Frazier
Payton
Kidd

Neither is top 5, but Kidd and Penny were a couple of my favorites to watch.

Not gonna bother ranking those I haven't watched, so gotta go with Stockton, Payton, Kidd, Nash and Paul.

Why not Kidd? Who do you rank above?

I'm not big on rankings, but everyone who does them is going to have Magic/Oscar (or West, some consider him a PG, and Oscar a SG...way before my time so I won't comment on it). If people have 3 of Stockton/Nash/Frazier/Paul there isn't any room for Kidd.

I'd bump Oscar up with Magic/IsIah but I can dig this. Big Nash fan though, so I'll cop to bias.

Perhaps I should have stated it better. Magic and Oscar we're not your typical point guards. I don't think it's fair to stick those two in one position. They are both well rounded top 10 players.

Magic, KJ, and Zeke all say high.

Come talk to me when anyone else on the list can average 20/10 on 50% fg% for a full season.

They may not be 'true PGs', but they play PG better than any of those 5.

Edit: Isiah > Oscar.

lol @ ISH constantly leaving out Jerry West on PG lists

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/westje01.html

read his profile/listed positions

he was listed at PG 12 out of 14 seasons

he averaged 7 apg career, almost 10 apg for 2 years, over 8apg 4 times

gail goodrich played shooting guard every season he was on LA

CrapGm actually has a 'legitimate' argument that Billups is better than Zeke.

I hate that poser site.

Kobe Bryant

Fisher was a spot up 3 point shooter, Kobe was the true PG.

He even invented a great new pass, the Kobe-Assist.

So CP3 is being held back by most because he has choked in the playoffs I'm assuming. And that is correct. He needs to go further than the 2nd round to move up. But in terms of just playing PG, he might've been the most efficient PG ever (regular season of course). All of the advanced analytics back this up. The guy maximizes possessions and almost never turns the ball over. He really had no weakness in his game and to me, he was the most complete PG ever if you actually break down his weaknesses. I can't think of one except his height and maybe unwillingness to shoot more, which can hurt your team at times when the team needs the offense. Of course there is also the choking issues, which is huge.

:oldlol:

I'm not defending the guy. If he doesn't have a couple of deep playoff runs, his legacy will suffer and rightfully so. But I'm just talking about his game and breaking it down. He's about as complete as any PG I can think of.
