Mario Chalmers. Stats cannot fully encompass his greatness.

Hey man, I actually posted a legitimately great player. Not my fault others want to make bad jokes.

joking aside, Dwight Howard in Orlando that guy was unstoppable.

He had like 5 straight years of being the undisputed best center in the league

he really fell off after the injury though

Really depends on what you mean by great... but I'll mention some stars that we will always remember, that future generations may not know.

Parker, Marc Gasol, Ibaka all come to mind instantly. Manu is in there.

The best player that will be most undervalued in the future, though, is Chris Paul.

I remember that piece of shit Bill Simmons saying that putting Dwight on any team instantly made them a contender. This was right before the Laker trade.

I had no idea that from that point on he would never be the best player on his team. It's mind boggling how much that injury ass-fvcked him.

I was just looking at Kidd's stats

for his career 12.6 ppg on 40%, 8.7 assist, 6 rebounds

He's very underrated now. A lot of people know him as just a shooter. When he was very athletic in his Prime and could drive.

He even dunked on T-Mac https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzo8RskHTRU (@:44)

Kobe.

Not starting at the beginning of his career really skewed his numbers. Taking away the first three years of his career, he averages 28+ a game.

Plus, he played with a prime Shaq. On any other team, in his athletic prime, he probably averages 32+ for his career and ends his career as having the highest PPG average in NBA history.

32+ a game with no rings. FG 40%

No evidence to support that.

There's really no evidence to support your claim that he'd average 32+ PPG for his entire career unless you ignore context and history. You can't just look at his peak scoring seasons with shit supporting casts because he likely wouldn't have played with a supporting cast on that level his entire career. That and, you know, no one else has ever averaged 32 PPG for their entire career. You factor in the first couple of seasons where he still likely only averages 20-25 PPG and the last few seasons of his career where he averages 25ish PPG, and he's not sniffing 32+ PPG for his career.

Duncan. People will think of him as the weakest top 10 guy.

In my mind he'd turn any franchise into a winner, whether it be by his actual play or his mindset. A dominant big man on both sides who was fully into the concept of his team. Hard to find that and the numbers don't fully show it.

MJ with Bulls (13 seasons): 31,5 ppg on 50,5% FG

His best trait is that he is clutch.

Dirk nowitzki.

his resume and his peak is very very great. yet people have problems to put him into the 12-20 range, despite the fact that there arent better players in that area.

its not about saying that dirk is def. rank 15 or so. but its about the fact that you can put him there, like you can put arguably others in the 12-20 range.

TD.

But it's a team game. Would they win if he had better stats? Would he be able to play as long as he did?

Look at MDE, who "collapsed" after 2004, 10 years of being the man...

Dirk's stats are great, you're just saying you think he's underrated. I personally think from a box score perspective he's overrated, as his defence was his biggest weakness.

Does stat sheet watchers include watching advanced stats?

If it does they prob won't undervalue anyone

If it's just raw stats though, like box score stats, then OBVIOUSLY any great player that was good at defense

This was the first name that came to mind for me. Kidd was so smart and a great chabge of pace guard, two things that don't show up on the stat sheet.
