They should have a legends game and make it part of the All-Star weekend. Get Hakeem, Mutombo, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Malone, Payton, Chris Webber, Shaq, Steve Nash, Alonzo Mourning, Reggie Miller.

No. No. Just stop. We do not need a legends game.

I think it'd be cool. Do it once every 10 years or so only of course so we don't keep watching the same people in it.

No. A few can still do the occasional thing on the court. Most are asking to get injured. The body doesn't hold up the same to even the most basic athletic competition. Even if they have stayed in shape. It'd be cringe worthy as **** every time one of them got near the ground.

He was so slow, Vucevic wasnt even trying. I would watch just to see one of them get a heart attack. Reggie could probably still ball

:applause:

Good stuff, tbh... Skill never fully leaves, some great teamwork, passing and off-ball movement there, and plenty of those dudes were still in shape...

Barry showing the great IQ and skill.

Hawkins was still in pretty good shape, great finish on Unseld and loved the trash-talk :lol

West and Pettit still wetting those jumpers.

Hondo still hustling all-out, always moving.

Thurmond still playing defense and rebounding, seemed to be in shape.

Earl still spinning and with them crazy layups.

Pistol Pete was killing it, dude was only 35 there though, if it wasn't for the devastating knee injury he still would've been in the league at that time... Then he died a few years later on, with a rare congenital defect that was never detected, crazy that he played for so long with it.

Big O with that great release of old, still with them strong inside moves.

Wes was always a big dude who wasn't even jumping much but he really let himself go fast.

Sam Jones still clutch.

:applause:

If some legends still can play while being in relatively solid shape, would be cool to see them bringing this back; just a short, little game with great ones of old.

He was too busy dominating legitimate NBA players like Magic Johnson and Mark Eaton in LA summer leagues in the mid-80's.

https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Wilt_Chamberlain

Of all his memories of Wilt Chamberlain, the one that stood out for Larry Brown happened long after Chamberlain's professional career had ended. On a summer day in the early 1980s, when Brown was coaching at UCLA, Chamberlain showed up at Pauley Pavilion to take part in one of the high-octane pickup games that the arena constantly attracted. "Magic Johnson used to run the games," Brown recalled Tuesday after hearing that Chamberlain, his friend, had died at 63, "and he called a couple of chintzy fouls and a goaltending on Wilt. "So Wilt said: 'There will be no more layups in this gym,' and he blocked every shot after that. That's the truth, I saw it. He didn't let one [of Johnson's] shots get to the rim." Chamberlain would have been in his mid-40s at the time, and he remained in top physical shape until recently

And his video has since been removed, but according to none other than Kiki Vandeweghe, Chamberlain overwhelmed a helpless 7-4 Mark Eaton after he was dunked on during a summer league game in the 80's. The same Eaton who would be DPOY in the mid-80's.

BTW, he was also turning down LEGITIMATE offers from NBA teams almost yearly up to age 50 (1986)

And what event would you enter, Wilt? The discus, the 200, the
high jump? ''Almost anything,'' he shrugs. These days, for typical
daily amusement he competes (against others or himself) in the
following activities: basketball, racquetball, volleyball, tennis,
polo (yes, the kind with horses), rowing single sculls, swimming,
running races, lifting weights, hurling objects, performing the
martial arts, aerobics and walking long distances. He still holds his
own in scrimmages with current NBA players. The Nets' offer, while
obviously of considerable publicity value to a team somewhere out in
the suburbs that nobody knows exists, was perfectly legitimate. Wilt
finally turned it down only because he was afraid he would disappoint
people, afraid that even though he was sure he would acquit himself
proudly, playing in the NBA in his 50th year, nothing he could do
would be enough to satisfy expectations.

Of course, looking at this video, and I suspect Shaq would probably agree that a mid-50's Wilt could probably have played in the NBA, as well.

Pippen
Malone
Shaq?
JWill, GP, Nash, Kidd

Nah. It's like when I saw a bunch of top concerts during the mid to late '70's. Went to see a few groups 30 or so years later. It's just sad.

So much bullshit in one post. Dude would've gotten slaughtered if he tried to play at 50. Being a steroid junkie and building his body is not the same as being able to compete in the NBA.

BTW, that Nets' offer was a BS publicity stunt.

Back to the topic: No. I would like to remember them for what they used to be. Not old and slow unathletic geriatrics.

EDIT: If only Wilt actually got called for fouling and goaltending while he was playing. :oldlol:

The same old shit every time. Could have, would have, should have. Nothing but excuses as to why he didn't. IF is your favorite word. Why didn't wilt play in the legends game? Oh that's right he was too busy dominating the SUMMER LEAGUE. lol! Why didn't he win more than 2? Oh that's right he was too busy dominating mountain lions and 20000 women. :lol :oldlol:

I think a half court concept of 3 on 3 would work.

These old guys simply don't have the stamina or flexibility to play out a full court game properly.

I want my memories of these guys to be a good one, not of old washed up bums who struggle to run up and down the court...
