It has now been, what, 20 days since Hinkie said he'd be having surgery in like a week. What's going on?:confusedshrug:

It's called tanking. Embiid will be traded next year which I think will be the last year of his rookie contract as damaged goods.

this doesn't make sense .. because they would still tank even if he already had the surgery

They will trade him for future 1st round picks. It's the Philly way.

I think if a rebuilding team with a bunch of picks like the Celtics decided to offer up a late lotto pick for him, the Sixers would take the deal.
late lotto? no. because unless they know for sure his career is basically over they'll keep him. his potential is too high. you might as well just keep him.

I don't think it has to be that bad to trade him. They have Okafor and Noel already. Two top young big men. If they play well this season, Philly probably won't even bother with Embiid. Especially if they can get a lotto pick in the 8-15 range for him.

He's having issues with insurance.

UnitedHealthcare doesn't want to cover ANOTHER surgery.
