Judging by his reaction/response to the situation, I think he is very happy. It's like a divorce without the paperwork and separation of assets.

Bye bye.

Is mars a Christian planet?

CUCK city. Girl knows she has a chance at top 1% astronaut **** and is taking her chance. Hubby is doing his best to convince himself he isnt a cucked bitch. On Mars, society will basically be like Pitcairn Island and women will have 100% of the power due to their genitals and the fact there are no other options for the dudes.

That's what I thought too.

Dude sounds happy. Then again, I think they have two kids too.

He's got a point, this could change the history of mankind forever.

Exactly this. Nothin cucked out about it. Dude is tellin his wife peace out while gaining a killer story to tell chicks once hes single again. The bitch has to be crazy anyway to do somethin like this. Plus hes prob gettin some kinda financial remuneration from NASA on top of it.

Huge win. Dude's the real MVP.

thats one super creative way to leave your husband and get some new dick. Just leave planet earth to populate another one.

Isn't that one-way trip to Mars project a scam?

Tbh when I first saw the OP i thought it was pretty surprising. I didnt think we were anywhere near the verge of sending people out there. It takes like 5 years just to REACH Mars. I dont understand where the water comes from for humans to survive a trip that long, let alone once they get there. If this were really happening NEXT YEAR i feel like thered be a lot more national talk about this.

Wait they plan on leaving next year? I thought maybe the program started next year.

From what I had heard initially the plan was to start a program preparing and training a group for a one way trip in the future. I had expected it to be something like within the next 10 years they'd be prepared to go as needed kind of thing.

I dunno, the quote in OP just says "a one-way mission to Mars in 2016." Which I find highly dubious.
