He'll be dead or in jail in 5 years. What a ****wit, if you don't believe the U.S. government is an authority over you than leave the U.S. and see how different it is somewhere else. No matter where you live governing bodies have authority over you this is the basic concept in any civilization. What a narcissistic idiot, listen to his smug laugh at 1:26 :facepalm

It deserves a thread of its own because I think people need to really watch this stuff. We don't need black folks to running around and acting like these people.
The last couple of incidents involved Blacks acting like them.

from what i understand of sovereign citizenship, it is rooted in common law via the magna carta. i don't necessarily have a problem with swinging that way, but you still gotta exercise common sense.
this guy is just one of the many f-ckers out to cause trouble and hide behind an ideology. the ideology itself could be almost anything. the world doesn't need more idiots like this.

Well, the entire untied states is common law except for Louisiana state law which is civil law.

it's clearly not, since modern federal law has been codified and developed to diverge from common law in many ways since the founding of the country.
the whole point of SC as i understand it is to opt out of federal law (and probably state law wherever it diverges from common law). but it's been a long time, so i may be hazy on some of that.

Yeah, you clearly don't know the difference between common law and civil law.
There is a reason why we talk about things like "precedent" in English speaking countries. That isn't something that exists in other countries. That's an idea that is exclusive to common law. Our legal system is English law (common law) not Roman law (civil law). The reason why Louisiana's state law is based on Napoleonic law (which is updated Roman law) is because of its history of French colonization.

I love this personal sovereignty stuff, it's fascinating. Especially when hearing dudes like Jordan Maxwell and Santos Bonaci talk about legal definitions. How you are a corporation that's why your name appears in all capital letters on legal documents. Which is also the reason the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people. Lol. Shits nuts and the rabbit hole is endless. Lol.
Here's a low budget documentary about a man who let all his contracts dissolve and claimed a piece of land for himself.

yeah i get it (thanks for all that) but that's not the point when it comes to SC from what i recall being taught back in the 90's.
the actual working point as i stated above is to recognise a separation and go from there. you can nitpick as much as you like on semantics and nomenclature, but it's not something that really interests me.
my point is this: i can see some validity in SC but the dude is just being an ass, there.
maybe go read the WP entry for a far better technical explanation... whatever floats your boat.

The fact that we live in a common law legal system is not a nitpick or semantics. It's a central element of our society. Our laws grows naturally as opposed to other systems where laws are made arbitrarily and unintuitively. It's because we live in a common law system that we can intuitively go about our lives and generally know what is and isn't legal without having to be experts on the actual laws.
As far as "sovereign citizens", these are people who think they know the law, but they actually don't. Every now and then, you actually will see one of these people spout off an obscure law that actually is true and still stands. For the most part though, these are people who have dumb beliefs like... where there use to be a lack of a law, laws that have since come about don't count. This is obviously not reality.
There are a few instances though where there are interesting points to be made. For example, the idea of "natural rights" in conjunction with the 9th amendment. Being that we do live in a common law system, the law is in fact a constant work in progress and of course, there are areas which are not yet clear legally.

"But putting his beliefs into practice has produced non-stop conflict for Peterson. Aside from arguing traffic violations, he at one point declared a nearby $370,000-foreclosed home to be his property. He even put a sign out front that said "this is my spot now." "
:oldlol:
Amazing how many of these people, especially those who live with and are supported by their parents like this guy, have the gall to preach to the world on how government should work, when they haven't contributed sh!t to society. We got about a dozen of these fools here in ISH. :oldlol:
