Coaches know very damn well that Kobe will get the ball in the clutch or get the ball with few seconds left.....Why do they insist on single covering him?

How the hell do these guys become coaches for a NBA team?

You need to literally put 3 guys on him. He has been killing it throughout his career and its mind boggling that professional level coaches don't know this.

I wouldn't even guard the inbounder. I would sandwich Kobe and have the 3rd guy face up towards him.

Are coaches idiots or Kobe is just that great?

He is statistically one of the worst players ever at taking a shot in the last 30 seconds of a game... at 23 percent, opposition team coaches WANT him taking those shots.

and he made 36 of them in his career.

I guess that is why a lot of these coaches get fired. How stupid are you to let Kobe go 1on1 against your team.

Not only talking about game winners but he lights them up in the 4th.

A guy like Popovich, considered a great coach, does the same mistake against Kobe.:facepalm

Lucky for Pop, the same defense he implemented on Kobe is working against Lebron and others. I guess Kobe would be the exception to Pop's good defensive strategy.

Alvin Gentry was fired for doing this against Kobe too.

Pretty sure Artest hit the last second shot off of a Kobe brick to seal the series.
