Who is the best Hawk ever? It's a franchise that's been around since the 1949-50 season. The franchise began in St. Louis. Won it's one and only championship in St. Louis in the 1957-58 season during the Celtic Dynastic run. 1-4 in Finals. Last Finals appearance in 1960-61. This was all during Bob Pettit's tenure. So who is this franchises' best player ever? It should be an easy answer, but you could argue this guy over the other.

1. Bob Pettit http://www.hispanosnba.com/imagenes/jugadores_img/img_50/bob-pettit.jpg
Nearly 13,000 rebs 20,000+ pts in 792 games 11 seasons. All 4 Hawk Final appearance were during this period at a time when the Celtics were dominant.

2. Dominque Wilkens http://www.hispanosnba.com/imagenes/jugadores_img/img_50/dominique-wilkins.jpg
6,000+ rebs Nearly 27,000 pts in 882 games 12 seasons as a Hawk. Instant offense. The Human Highlight Film.

3. Lou Hudson http://www.hispanosnba.com/imagenes/jugadores_img/img_50/lou-hudson.jpg
11 seasons as a Hawk. 17,000 + pts. 6 time All Star.

4. Pete Maravich http://www.hispanosnba.com/imagenes/jugadores_img/img_50/pete-maravich.jpg
He only played 4 seasons as a Hawk. 24.3ppg as a Hawk. 2 time All Star as a Hawk.

Others that could be mentioned: Zelmo Beaty, Lenny Wilkens, Josh Smith, and Jon Koncak.

It should be Pettit since he brought them their only title (unless ISHers are going to mark that as an asterik because Bill Russell didn't play in some of the game due to injury; the Hawk SRS was the worst for a Finals champion and it's the only 1 below 0 which is the average) and was a 20/10 threat for the majority of his career, first 2 time MVP.

Al Horford deserves more of a honorable nomination than Josh Smith.

Nigguh, what?

Ever heard of Doc Rivers or Kevin Willis? Hell, Spud Webb and Cliff Levingston were better Hawks than Koncak.

As for the topic at hand, Dominique without a second thought.

I had a feeling I was going to hear some crap like Terry, Horford, and Joe Johnson. I was not being serious with Koncak. I think most knowledgeable and serious basketball fans know that it's Pettit, but I could see an argument for Wilken's.

Not dwelling on the past and living in the present the Hawks are way better than the lakers that's for sure.

Regarding their time with the Hawks:

1. Pettit
2. Nique
3. Sweet Lou

Then you got dudes like Wilkens, Hagan, Dikembe, Guerin, Bellamy, Pistol Pete, Willis...
