I like Stockton's approach of playing whenever he possibly can and not making a big deal about it. I dislike when players always tell the media about their injuries and how theyre playing through this problem or that. Or, if the team's not doing well, just sitting out unnecessarily anyway to avoid being recognized as part of the problem. That's the insecure, beta kind of approach.

I remember him sucking in the playoffs one year around half way through his career and thinking it looked time for him to retire. Found out years later after he retired he was playing with a hyperextended elbow and couldn't raise his arm.

i would take isiah before stockton.... stocktons long career benefits him in the overall statistical lead... but at their respective peaks isiah was better

won back to back titles while being the leader of his team
and in the process of doing that, beat Magic, Kareem, Bird, Drexler, Jordan etc

stockton is 3 or 4, but is a player that would kill it in any era

I feel like stockton is going to a player people discredit in the future strictly on appearance

Stockton was one of the toughest players I've ever seen. Right up there with Bird and Rodman. He set picks on big guys, took charges, and was always getting knocked over. The fact that he played the way that he did and rarely missed a game is incredible.

Stockton was better on both ends, his numbers were far better and he made the All-NBA team in '89 and '90 over Isiah. He was also a top 10 MVP candidate while Isiah wasn't.

And Isiah didn't "beat" Magic. Magic got injured and only played in 2 games.
