South African scientists have discovered that 400-year-old tobacco pipes excavated from the garden of William Shakespeare contained cannabis, suggesting the playwright might have written some of his famous works while high.

Theres no hard evidence that Shakespeare even existed let along had a garden.

I remember seeing something about the guy actually named William Shakespeare was illiterate, they have his signature on documents and he had to sign with an X and when he did write his name he had spelling mistakes in it. They think he was a front man for a ghost writer. Plus a lot of his stories were adapted from earlier works like Romeo & Juliet.

But anyway no big surprise, drugs were ok back then.
