There's like 3 contacts of mine on Facebook whom I've recently noticed now post nonstop about some scam called Advocare. I wiki'd it because it seemed like they were pushing this product unusually persistently and it turns out it's a multilevel marketing company aka a ****ing pyramid scheme.

I thought pyramid schemes only duped characters in sitcoms, these people are like former classmates from school and they're claiming this shit changed their lives. All it is is "nutrition" products scam as the products are usually more expensive versions of things you can get elsewhere independently. Anyone else notice the aggressive marketing of "Advocare" shit from people they know?

I haven't seen that one, but there's another one that got some people I'm friends with called Motor Club of America. It even featured some pictures of people I know, or knew really, I haven't spoken to them in years, holding up fists full of cash, and yammering about how easy this was. And then you'd see other people commenting about hooking them up. None of these people were exactly law school material.

I little googling and I found out it's a pretty nasty pyramid scheme.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip91QPBBqXg definitely a scam...

I almost feel bad for this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEPDRe_43Xc but then I realize he's just trying to make more "sales" :lol

This guy claims you could make "2,000 dollars a week" via MCA... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by5sd-99xqU

Being that each referral you make is 80$ that means you'd have to dupe 25 people every single week, and ensure that they use your name when they sign up to make that kind of money. He claims some people out there make 10 grand a week "from the comfort of their own home"... so, those people make 125 referrals a week? Just sitting around in their house? ...no.

Only person who's making a loooot of money is the scam artist at the top of the pyramid :lol

The biggest scam I did was persuading my friend to post on ISH.

Dont confuse indoctrinated with simply trying to get money. Im sure most of your friends are well aware it's a scam, but they think they can make enough doing/promoting it.

This.

While it is a scam, people are desperate and it does take hard work to convince others to do that.

I was in Vegas April 2014 and there was a Vemma conference which is just some nutritional/energy drink scam thing. Massive amounts of people there. Most were kids so I could understand how they got duped but I saw people in their 50s and shit which just depressed the hell out of me.

Do you guys have ACN in the states? It's a pyramid scheme owned by Donald Trump. I have at least 20 people on my friend's list suckered in on that crap and they send me a message about it once every 2 months. I blocked every single one of them on my news feed. All their posts were about wearing suits + inspirational positive message + working hard on becoming millionaires.

Yet every single one of them are asking our mutual friends for jobs. :oldlol:

Not advocare, but I have a bunch of people on my Facebook posting about Plexus. I guess its some crap to help you lose weight or whatnot.

Literally posts everyday about it.

this guy came up to me at a bookstore and tried to recruit me. I felt honored to have experienced this encounter.
