Both have won multiple championships over the last 14-15 years and recently won after not winning a ring for a few years.

Both should have more championships than they do.
Pats should have won '06, '07, '11.
Spurs should have won '06, '13, and maybe '04.
I cant decide who's better.

good comparison. spurs are squeaky clean though so they get the auto nod.

The team they beat was literally called the Heat. If anything they should have been in their element, Spurs stacked the odds against themselves with the AC thing if you ask me.
Also you should get that cough checked out

If we're talking about the collective American consciousness? I would have to go with the Pats and the only reason I think that is because there are several metric tons more football fans than there are basketball fans in this country.
If we're talking just my own opinion, I go Spurs...and I say that as a dyed-in-the-wool Pats fan. To me, those two choke jobs against the Giants in 08 and 12 were historic. Also, 5 titles > 4 titles.

I agree, the Pats should have beaten the Giants both times, not to mention that epic collapse against Indy in '06.
But the Spurs also choked in '06 vs Dallas and '14 against Miami. They also underperformed in '12 when they collapsed against OKC.
*coughcoughbrokenACinthearenacoughcough*
:lol:roll: that's retarded
I'm pretty sure everybody played under the same condition. It just happened that a certain somebody wasn't man enough to take the heat.
Don't act like the Spurs didn't put a stomp on that ass in 5 games.

Both have GOAT-level coaches, front offices, culture, and an all-time great that has carried the franchise through many different team iterations.

But if your life depended on it, who would you choose to win the biggest game--Brady and the Pats or Duncan and the Spurs?
Dude compared a mechanical malfunction in one game to Spygate and Deflategate.
Brady, Belicheats are notorious cheaters. Record breaking max fines, draft deductions all documented. Cheating will forever be attached to their legacies.

I will go with Spurs but more people will watch a Patriots game against a team like the Raiders than they will watch the Spurs in the Finals. That just means that football is that dominant here in murica.

Depends, are we considering all the years as an organization?
I have the Spurs by a small margin. The Pats have the back to back ships and 3 in four years. They also have 4 losses in the Super Bowl compared to the Spurs 1.
All things considered, its harder to win multiple championships with a 53 man roster than it is with a 15 man roster. What the Patriots have done is amazing, but the Spurs have the slight edge for me.

The Patriots crushed the Colts by 38 points because they deflated their footballs. Rigggghhhhhhhhhht.

When Pop gets fined half a mill and/or Duncan gets suspended for cheating, then this debate will become more legitimate. Pats fans can say what they want, no other dynasty has had their best player suspended, their coach heavily fined, and the franchise docked multiple draft picks all for cheating

Conditions were the same for both teams. Lebron's tendency to cramp is no excuse. Please don't pretend that the Spurs didn't win that series by the largest average point differential in NBA history. MIA had no answer for SAS.

Aren't the Steelers and 49ers considered a better franchise than the Patriots?
Although winning 4 of 6 Superbowls in a 15 year span is not easy. It's not like basketball where 3 peats aren't too uncommon.
Since 2000? Spurs are the best NBA franchise and Patriots are the best NFL franchise. No one really gives the Patriots a run while the Lakers of the 2000s and early 2010s give Spurs a run but consistency goes in favor to the Spurs. Despite the fact, the Miami Heat from 2010-2014 was probably the "most consistent team" making 4 Finals and winning 2 (also the time when the LeBron hype started to get unbearable by the media).

He didn't cheat in the previous SB though. Went 13-15 in the fourth quarter and overcame a 24-14 deficit. Pretty great. Conference finals is a different story...even though he still dominated the Colts with legally inflated balls in the second half.

This isn't a comparison to me. Patriots are by far the greater org.
Four superbowls and six Super Bowl appearances in an era is BY FAR more difficult to achieve than five titles and six finals appearances in the NBA.

The Patriots are much greater. Not even a comparison.
Haters are so freaking butt hurt from the Patriots ass rapings that they cry "cheaters" after every single loss.
Patriots are in the heads of almost every single hater football fan out there.
That is the ultimate sign of greatness and something the Spurs could achieve only in their wildest dreams.

They didn't steal the Rams signals you moron. Even lying bastards at ESPN admitted the other day that was a made up lie and it never happened.
And today Hannah Storm tried to call the Patriots "cheaters" because of Spygate and Mike Ditka tore her a new asshole and said every single team did the same thing, his team, all the teams, EVERY TEAM, and they were NOT cheating.
THIS exact kind of shit is why the Patriots are greater by far. They have millions upon millions of butt hurt fan boys reeling and crying everywhere. The Spurs by comparison are basically irrelevant.

Deflategate, not real.
People (ESPN, other owners) hate on the Patriots because Belichick has made them look dumb too many times. He is a cocky bastard, but the GOAT coach, and Brady is the GOAT QB.

Patriots have won it all back to back, the minimum required of being a dynasty. Spurs have proven over and over again they are incapable of doing this. Spurs are not a dynasty.

The other side of that argument is the Pats went 10 years between those 3rd and 4th titles. Spurs never went through a title drought that long. I think it was 6 years for SA?

That's not true.
In the past 30 years more than half of the NFL teams have won a superbowl. In the past 30 years only 9 different teams have won an nba championship.

That's his point: Much more parity in the NFL, with fewer teams able to stay at the top of the league over longer periods of time.

I just looked up the word Dynasty, and the definition made no mention of a back-to-back requirement.
But, the obvious answer is Spurs. Whether the Patriots are guilty or not (I think they are), and it's proven or not (I don't think it's proven), the fact that there are, and have been, many questions about their gaining a competitive advantage lessens their results in my mind.
