View Full Version : Cannabis does not have a single negative effect on health or well being

In fact, it only improves your health and well being, but I won't get into that.
Everything bad you have ever heard about Cannabis is a myth. The only thing bad about it is spending money on it. If you disagree, explain what you think it does that is bad and I will try to prove you wrong or educate you on the truth
But just to clear the air on some common myths....
Not a gateway drug
Decreases odds of getting cancer
Can't overdose
Zero deaths
Doesn't make you stupid, lazy, etc
It is safe to drive high
Safe for lungs

Not a gateway drug-- that's debatable. for some people it clearly is, and they admit as much.
Doesn't make you stupid, lazy, etc-- apparently it does if you take it regularly before your brain is done developing (about 25).
It is safe to drive high-- nonsense. anything that can get you high can impair your driving.
Safe for lungs-- not if you smoke it regularly. smoking pretty much anything will put carcinogens and waste particles in to your lungs.
also, if you don't grow it yourself you can't be sure it hasn't been raised with pesticides or been contaminated in any other way... which you are then making more dangerous by igniting and inhaling.
other than that, i like cannabis just fine.

1. The gateway drug is the most pathetic and illogical myth ever. Obviously people are going to try weed before heroin or meth. Causation vs correlation.
2. "Apparently" according to the government and big pharma funded studies. Next.
3. If you can pass a field sobriety test, you can drive. Even if I'm baked off my ass I can pass that test easy. Unlike alcohol, you can walk in a straight line. Therefore you don't swerve or anything. I've driven high hundreds and hundreds of times and haven't produced a single dent.
4. Smoking Pretty much everything. Cannabis is the exception. It decreases the odds of lung cancer and expands lung capacity.
5. You are very correct about pesticides and contaminates. This is why we need legalization and regulated testing.

i guess it's nice for your followers that you feel very sure of your views.
2. "Apparently" according to the government and big pharma funded studies. Next.
another one pulled out of orifice of choice? any paper critical of weed happens to be part of a big pharma conspiracy, really?

well good for you, punky, but that has little to do with my overall point.
4. Smoking Pretty much everything. Cannabis is the exception. It decreases the odds of lung cancer and expands lung capacity.
if we agree on that, it doesn't change the point i just made. carcinogens introduced in to any one area can potentially cause a problem in an unrelated area.
5. You are very correct about pesticides and contaminates. This is why we need legalization and regulated testing.
agreed! we also need more studies to better clear up some of these issues.

SMOKE and any other fine particles is bad for your lungs dingus. It doesn't matter if it's smoke from a camp fire, dust from a coal mine, or smoke from your joint.
Put enough fine particles into the air your breathing, and it's not healthy for your lungs.

I use Cannabis for both medicinal and recreational purposes. I'm not some annoying teenager wearing huff socks saying 420 blaze it all day. I'm an activist.

So what exactly does it do to your lungs then? Saying it's not healthy for lungs implies that it causes a negative effect on your lungs....what is that negative effect?

I've driven high probably close to 1000 times by now. Not a single dent to show for it.
It is completely safe. Unlike alcohol, no dosage of Cannabis can make you dizzy or tipsy. You can take 100 bong rips and you'd still be able to walk in a perfectly straight line. If you can walk in a perfectly straight line and pass the rest of a field sobriety test then you won't be swerving or ****ing up while driving.
You are just making an assumption. I made the exact same assumption years ago. I was wrong.

All the weed smokers i knew that lived up to the loser stoner stereotype in high school were losers in the first place.
If you are a motivated person and you smoke weed then you are still a motivated person. If you are a loser who doesn't care about life and you smoke weed then you are still a loser that doesn't care about life.

Bong hits? Go rip some gravity or dabs....two or three passes of either and that can definitely put you on your ass. Unless you're smoking some low quality cat piss or something.
Also, i can generally walk straight, have solid motor coordination, think coherently, etc after 5+ shots of makers but it wouldn't mean getting behind a wheel is safe.
Sure, I can drive baked and i have on many occasions but there are times when i know i definitely should wait it out before heading out somewhere.

Yep. Only one of my close friends smokes weed daily and he's the most hard working and motivated of us, so no, weed doesn't hinder you in that way.
But I'm also against everyday smoking, because it does get you addicted. There was a weed "drought" in my city recently and he was constantly nervous when he couldn't find any and drank a lot of alcohol.
So it does get you addicted and addiction is never good...

And thc isnt the only cannabinoid used for "medical marijuana"
Some of the medicinal uses out there dont even get you high. For example, someone with anxiety wouldnt typically get anything high in thc.

This is true. Cannabidiol (CBD) has many medicinal benefits. It's usually what they give to sick kids. It doesn't make you high.

I am not an avid weed smoker but here are some of my thoughts/experiences:
1. I prefer edibles to actually smoking it. I've found the effects to be stronger and I can't stand the feeling of smoke going into my lungs, coughing, etc. I recently got a couple cheeba chews from a friend and I've been using 1/8 of them at a time.
2. Overall I have felt the following effects from weed: Heightened hearing/vision and an overall "good" high for appox 30-90 minutes followed by 2-3 hours of feeling sluggish/tired. So I am not a very big fan of the drug.
3. As far as driving high it depends on the person. Someone who smokes all the time and is driving high all the time is probably okay on the road because they are used to driving in that state. But someone like myself who doesn't smoke often needs to be careful about driving high. For the most part I avoid it as I feel my reflexes are slower and my vision is slightly altered.
4. In the end I prefer how I feel sober to being high. I prefer taking a shot or two if I want a buzz.

Alcohol makes you physically fukked up (by effecting your coordination by impacting the cerebellum) so that's why they do the walk-in-a-straight line test.
Marijuana doesn't do that. But it certainly can affect your decision making, which can definitely affect your driving.

So what exactly does it do to your lungs then? Saying it's not healthy for lungs implies that it causes a negative effect on your lungs....what is that negative effect?
Please go try and run even a ****ing 5k after you have been smoking daily. Good luck with that. Welcome to the effect on your lungs.
Not to mention watch for a rise in pancreatic cancer in the coming years. Pancreas filters things such as smoke which is why e-ciggs (and weed) will produce this same outcome. Go talk to a doctor please so you can learn something.
Cannabis has also been linked to mental illness in the sense of it triggering a predisposed gene. However, admittedly this is correlation, but I have seen this first hand enough times to feel suspect. Beyond this, long-term and high use leads to inability to manage emotions. You will find it much harder to control your anger and/or stress if you attempt to quit smoking weed after the conditions listed above.
This information is more for others in the thread OP since you clearly are only trying to find information that supports your belief and disregarding all else.
In fact, it only improves your health and well being, but I won't get into that.
