The following year, Golden St. has the first overall pick. Does Magic hold out and stay in school for his senior year so he doesn't play for a team whose rebuilding? Which he'd obviously not wanting or afraid to do

The following year (Magic's done with NCAA) Dallas has the first overall pick. Does Johnson make sure he gets to the Lakers or a contender at all costs?

There was no "lottery" back then. There was a coin flip because the Bulls and New Orleans Jazz (whose 1st round pick was acquired by the Lakers three years prior) were tied for the worst record. That coin flip was held in the April, before the school year even ended.
