No there are 2 genders.
Some people find couches and dolls attractive.
That doesn't make it into a gender.

Gender is the range of characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity and femininity.
Because you are female and think you should have been born male doesn't make you a new gender. It just makes you a weirdo.

gender definition - the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones).

Gender =/= Gender Definition.
And there could be 200,000 ways to define gender if you ask any oddball off the street.
"I'm male during the week and female during the weekends."

just because you're uncomfortable with the unexplored wilderness currently growing in your nether regions, doesn't mean everybody else feels the same. hopefully your own suicidal probability will catch up to the transgendered communities and you'll finally rid yourself of whatever sad pathetic life you call a life.
most people don't give two shits what you call them btw. as long as you don't act like an unsophisticated jackass. easier said than done i know..

Yeah, they really do.
According to the leftist sidekick John Oliver:
"It's pretty simple: call them whatever they want to be called. You can do it. We do it all the time. David Evans woke up one day and said, ‘Everyone call me The Edge.' And we all went, ‘Fine, The Edge, are we talking the noun or the verb?'"
So I shall make it a point before meetings to go around the room and ask which sex each person identifies with today so as not to offend anyone. Because, God forbid, John feels like a Jane today and didn't let me know, and I call him a him and not a her.
You can't even call gay people gay anymore. There's a million other words you have to use now cause gay is mean or something like that.

Suicide rate for trannies goes up after gender reassignment surgery.
"B-b-but they were born that way. They just want the outside to match the inside."
Stop being such an inconsiderate fvck and think of what's best for people with mental illness, instead of trying to FEEL like a compassionate person (who goes around telling strangers to kill themselves on the internet).

Apotemnophilia (or "stump play") is sexual arousal based on the image or fantasy of one's self as an amputee. It can be associated with Body integrity identity disorder (BIID) in which otherwise sane and rational individuals express a strong and specific desire for the amputation of a healthy limb or limbs.
About as nuts as these people who intentionally cut their arms off to be disabled. Were they born that way? Or are they just ****ing crazy?
RidonKs, can I get a dick sewn onto my forehead because I feel the desire to? Do I have to keep it covered up? Am I still crazy, or do you think its totally cool if I feel that way? What if I get two ***** for ears instead? Does that make me crazy? At what point do you consider someone crazy (when they want to slice their ***** open and fold it backwards perhaps?).

that seems like a really long way around not that difficult a problem. filter your language. use the person's NAME rather than their pronoun, since you don't know it. it's really not very difficult and it avoids awkward situations that are unavoidable due to the personal decision so certain people.
should such an awkward situation arise, it is not difficult to apologize and say you did not realize and you understand why it might be offensive. subtle adjustment. you don't say everything you're thinking at all times to your parents in-law so why would you say everything you're thinking to some stranger you just met?
You can't even call gay people gay anymore. There's a million other words you have to use now cause gay is mean or something like that.

You're right, it was homosexual that is now offensive.
For example, consider the word "homosexual," which Jeremy Peters writes "probably sounds inoffensive" to most people. I am a straight man who considers myself to be politically aligned with the struggles of gay men and women, and I frequently use the term (including just last night). I was surprised then to learn that the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) listed it as an offensive term back in 2006.
Oh yeah, husband and wife is offensive now as well.
I eagerly await the next word I am not allowed to say for fear of 'offending' someone :lol

fyi this is called a limit case, since it is incredibly unlikely scenario you are describing as an example of a possible slippery slope, where the principle of gender choosing is corrupted by all sorts of loony behaviours you can dream up
but to answer your question, no it would not make you crazy to have a ***** sewn into your forehead, nor would it be out of the question for you to invent a gender that fits your agenda, as long as your d!ckhead gender is genuine and not just an experiment to make a political point.
i doubt you could get away with walking around in public. it would be deemed unseemly in public places and you would be forced to wear a sock. walking around without your sheath would be no different than taking a bunch of painkillers and jerking off in a public park in san francisco. that isn't an infringement on your right to designate your own gender, it is an infringement on your right to prominently display your genitalia... an infringement i believe is perfectly appropriate.
of course if you walk around trying to rape dogs or scare small children with your d!ckhead, you're going to run into trouble. again that is an intolerable infringement of law and convention.
what do i consider crazy? THAT. i am as unconcerned by somebody wanting to sew a d!ck to their forehead than i am by somebody wanting to get a piercing. if that guy with the piercing starts takes his piercing out and starts trying to stab people or if he angrily yells at anybody who doesn't have a piercing. i consider him crazy. if he just walks around and acts normal.... why would i take issue?
as for slicing your dick in half and folding it back on one another... that's another matter. technically that's a medical operation and imo you should get a doctor to properly assess which operations are medically appropriate. if you could die or suffer irreperable harm by slicing your c@ck in half, the doctor has every right to deny you the procedure. if you want to go home and use a steak knife, i do not believe the authorities should be contacted to prevent you from doing so. but again, when it comes to self-mutilation, the law gets very tricky because it insists on treating every person with a free willing conscience.

i know lots of people, older baby boomer types to, who insist on using the word partner. i made fun of it because the first person i heard use it was my dad, who is typically easy to make fun of. but then i heard it in other circles and came to realize it was growing.
if i call husband and wife two people who prefer to be called partners, they aren't going to bite my head off. worst case scenario they take a bit of a pretentious tone and say they are not "husband and wife because that's sexist". you can simply apologize and move on. or you can huff and puff about how the world is being overtaken by feminist agenda driven thought nazis. one leads to more preferable an outcome than the other.

gender =/= sexual orientation
Yup. Gender = the masculine or feminine character of nouns and pronouns.
As any normally functioning person understands, gender applies to words, not people.
Applying gender to people is like calling the act of running a verb. The word "running" is a verb, but the actual act itself obviously is not. The word "she" has a feminine gender, but the actual woman the word "she" refers to does not have a feminine gender. She doesn't have a gender, as she is not a word. She is a person and as a person, her sex is female. The feminine gender of the word "she" is a description of her sex being female.
fyi this is called a limit case, since it is incredibly unlikely scenario you are describing as an example of a possible slippery slope, where the principle of gender choosing is corrupted by all sorts of loony behaviours you can dream up

I admit, I laughed at your response.
But the bolded part is how Bruce became Caitlin, according to the medical experts who described the procedure.
For the record, I don't care that he did what he did, but Im not going to go out of my way to accommodate him because he feels 'special'. I would treat him like every other human I interact with on a daily basis, and that includes saying 'good afternoon, sir' or 'good afternoon, ma'am'.
If you can't handle being called sir or ma'am, I don't really give a shit.

Please use gay or lesbian to describe people attracted to members of the same sex. Because of the clinical history of the word "homosexual," it is aggressively used by anti-gay extremists to suggest that gay people are somehow diseased or psychologically/emotionally disordered

And I would say the whole wanting to cut off an arm/leg because you "feel" like it it's not a part of your body IS CRAZY, as in there is something WRONG WITH YOUR BRAIN. I can understand how someone may feel that way but it's still crazy.
And you can't compare it to people removing warts off their face or having plastic surgery. More often than not those are for vanity purposes or procedures that will HELP you live a more normal life. While removing an arm/leg is damaging to your body and will disrupt your everyday life.

vanity moves in a lot of different ways my friend. if HELP for normal everyday living is what you suggest, then what should we tell people who look and sound and appear completely normal from the outside.. but deep down they are constrained from acting like they want, they are not really free because they suppress their own emotions in order to abide by societal convention. these suppressed feelings debilitate them during simple conversations or social occasions. and they hate themselves for it.
perhaps they would rather worship the crippled life because it means people will see me favourably out of pity. in such a case the three-legged dog is not such a bad life afterall, whether the fourth leg was intentionally severed or not.
btw, i bolded the part of your post that is the most fallacious part of your argument. this is akin to calling your own behaviour 'natural' and what somebody else does 'unnatural'. that argument doesn't make any sense because it's subjective.
if you want to start in on what to think when somebody's brain chemistry needs rewiring whether through therapy or pharmaceutical or hypnosis or whatever..... choose your psychiatry. yes there are people with deep-seated mental disorders that effect their sexuality and may require an operation.
who cares? there are psychopaths who require brain tampering too. people who are suicidal. people who are chronically depressed or anxious. all sorts of conceivable cases that have nothing to do with sex. so what makes operating on your narcissism (nosejob) any different from operating on your anxiety (antidepressant) any different from operating on your sexuality (genital transplant)?

You have a right to dress up and pretend to be the opposite gender. That's fine. But other people have the right to refer to you with the pronouns of what sex you actually are. I don't see where "I'm gonna make people hate you" comes into this

The same way when I work with kids who have schizophrenia and think they are the devil, I explain to them they are indeed not, sometimes this upsets them, but I don't give into their delusion and tell them, "yes, you are the devil" I don't give them courge awards and I don't put them on the cover of playboy.
They may never, and likely will never "get better" but does that mean I should encourage their illness? Of course not.
I honestly think it's horrible that people exploit Bruce and make money off of him when he is mentally ill. People are afraid of offering real help, because people, much like some posters in this thread, will call those people who offer real assistance things like "intolerant" and "transphobic"
Edit: I work with mentally ill people and worked with a boy who claimed to be possessed by the devil and would get extremely upset when I'd let him know he is a 12 year old Hispanic boy living in a group home, not the devil.

what if you can't tell, you guess, and then you guess wrong. not wrong as in different from whatever 'identity' they have chosen, but you guess they are the wrong sex than whatever they were at birth. what if they correct you and you don't believe them? so then they have to defend themselves against an attack from two sides; the allegation that they are not the gender they say they are, as well as the allegation that they are not the gender they were born with. meanwhile your dumb ass can't even tell the difference between the two, and by all rights you shouldn't get an answer, since neither question has anything to do with you but you insist because they insist because you insist that you have the right to call anybody whatever you want because

his best bet against you is to make up a rude nickname back since we all know you couldn't handle geoff if ur life was at stake.
but in general his best recourse is surely to whine about it until it stops. presumably things won't get violent in an office building. so then you have guilt for the perpetrator who feels like a jerk, guilt for the victim who feels like a crybaby, guilt for everybody else losing sleep for having witnessed such a farce. but everybody goes home a little bit more scared, which means everybody goes home a little bit more safe. it's a matter of basic premonition.

All this transgender support doesn't make sense to me. It is in fact a mental disorder. There's science and reasoning behind it. Johns Hopkins hopsital stopped doing sex reassignment surgeries as a result of the high suicide rates from post-op transgender surgeries as they didn't help the individual.
They realized that they were actually just gay...not the opposite sex. Giving hormone blockers to teenagers isn't smart either...Let the brain develop and the fad will probably pass. It should be against the hippocratic oath. It's like anything else we tell teenagers to cheer up about as everything seems so important at that age.

Male
Female
Hermaphrodites
Men with ***** that say they are females are just mentally unstable. You are what you are.
There is only 2 genders and the rest have a normal mental (or sometimes physical) affliction humans can be sometimes born with or develope later in life.
