Wow. So they were forcing him to say something about the Israel-Palestine conflict? Really? All these stupid "groups" and their bully tactics.

Update: The Rototom festival has reversed itself, reinstating Matisyahu's invitation to perform. Also, the Valencia BDS chapter issued a statement defending its decision but stating that it had acted outside the cultural boycott guidelines outlined by the larger BDS movement.

Was blatant anti-Semitism... and really revealed the anti-Semitic nature of the "Boycott Israel" movement (to the general public at least; many in the Jewish community and Israel already understand the BDS movement is hate-driven) ... glad to see the decision was reversed. Glad the world is waking up to the discriminatory nature of BDS - in which they never boycott China, Russia, Iran, India, Lebanon, etc. for human rights violations, but only boycott the Jewish state. Most in BDS reject a two-state solution, boycott anything remotely related to Israel (i.e., not just stuff from the West Bank). Simply put, it's a warped movement that thrives on and foments hatred for Israel. To the point where Jews around the world become the target. Forcing every Jew (in this case a star singer) to undergo some kind of "loyalty test" to prove they are "good Jews" who reject Israel is wrong and offensive... something you'd find under a fascist regime.

Pretty messed up but on the flip side if an Islamic singer was scheduled to perform in New York and media questioned them on terrorism and they said they refuse to take a side on who is right between islamic jihadis and america would that show go ahead?
Not that I see israel/palestine as clear cut like that situation but some countries are so biased they think it is that clear cut.

So Israel is the equivalent of jihadis?:wtf:
I'm sure if an Iranian singer was asked about Iranian funding of terror groups and said something like "I don't really want to get into politics" nobody would give a fcuk and it would be no big deal.

It would be like making an Italian-American singer born and raised here in the USA sign a document condemning Italy.. or else be blacklisted.. based solely on the fact they are of Italian descent (and have no relation whatsoever to the Italian government and are not even an Italian citizen)... discriminating on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, etc., should be barred from any civil society... No other singers in the festival (dozens of artists from dozens of countries) were forced to make a political statement, only the Jewish artist... It's basically the kind of stuff the Third Reich was engaging in, let alone Spanish' own history with anti-Semitism... But it's coming from the rabid anti-Israel obsessives

Yep. Cannot believe all these ignorant morons I met in university who were fighting tooth and nail to support BDS. Really shows their true colors-JEW HATERS
BDS is also DIRECTLY FUNDED by high ranking members of both Hamas and Hezbollah. Anyone who supports BDS is actively supporting terrorists.
They hate us cus they ain't us.

You mean like Cat Stevens AKA Yusuf Islam who can perform wherever he wants and no one cancels him whatever his political opinions are? Do you think New Yorkers do this to Yusuf Islam every time he plays there? Spain and BDS are antisemitic as phuck. And people say antisemitism is dead:facepalm

Well he did get denied entry to America once, and he has publicly commented numerous times on how he does not agree with the fundamentalists and he does more for peace between religions than any other singer so no that doesn't fit At ALL
