View Full Version : NBA 2K16 Introduces Hall of Fame Ratings Scale

Basically, 2K's approach to every single attribute this year is to identify the best to do that particular thing, rate him a 99, and go from there. One of the examples used was Dennis Rodman, who they declare the best offensive rebounder of all-time, so he'll be rated 99 in that category. There were ten 99 rated offensive rebounders last year. Now it's just Rodman. DeAndre Jordan is now a 92 in offensive rebounding.
Perhaps of more interest to you guys, from 2K's explanation:
Who is the Greatest of All-Time? Michael Jordan of course! The best player in his peak season is the only player with a 99 Overall rating in the game.
Thus far, LeBron James has been listed as a 94 overall. Kevin Durant is 91.
Discuss.

The moderator 23 over on OS is a 1st class phuckboy who bans anyone who says anything negative about 2k.
On topic this should be very interesting for the game.

2k15 was trash. Borderline unplayable. If there aren't major changes in 2k16 I might be done with 2k.

How much does 7 more points in offensive rebounding truly affect a game?
Dennis Rodman is 6'7", 220 lbs, with average jumping ability.
DeAndre Jordan is 6'11", 265 lbs, with elite jumping ability.
Since this is a video game, I'd still choose DeAndre Jordan as the better offensive rebounder.

Height is also factored in. Not that it matters really. 2K is almost all canned animations anyways.

QNBA Live's demo will determine if i puchase 2K. I'm sick of tired of the same flaws showing up. Also this new rating system will be hot garbage because 2K over rates legends anyways. Will we still see the CPU taking scrubs and playing them like stars? Also don't me started on how the cpu cheeses the user and make u not block when u press the block button; or move u out of the way so they can get a easy lay up or dunk. Need to show some gameplay...makes no damn sence why they have not shown any gameplay but just snippets.
Also agree with other poster who say 23 on OS is a 2K fanboy, but he has been saying negative stuff lately but still a 2K fanboy.

They make good basketball games...but they have never had any idea what they were doing when rating and optimizing players.

Give me Vesely (who I know isn't in the NBA anymore; just was the first tall, athletic, scrub who came to mind) over Rodman for a rebound any day in 2k.
Computer teammates couldn't do jack shit last game anyway. Just reminded me of early My Team when you had to switch to closest player to do anything competently. Defend lanes, contest shots, rebound... Piece of shit ai.
I have to start playing again, tho, so I'm not rusty at launch.

Sometimes people like to play games that at least somewhat resemble real basketball. You won't find this pvp...

you seem like the type of person who hates how james harden plays cause he's "cheesing" in real life drawling all those fouls

Pointless. 2K continues to do shit that nobody cares about while ignoring the core things that have plagued the games for years. They have all the tools, but just refuse to actually be as great as they can
I like the new rating system.
Elite is more elite. On 2K15, I do a dynasty and within three simulated seasons I have a starting five all rated 90 or above.
You can take any player and make them almost 90. I did it with Shabazz Napier every time.
I want separation between elite and above average.
How many players on FIFA you see rated 99 in anything?

that's part of his game...so no I wouldn't hate that. I hate seeing how the CPU cheese with scrubs and play them like stars. Or seeing players with low 3pt rating draining 3's like they are Curry, but if the player takes that same player it's a brick.

How many players on FIFA you see rated 99 in anything? It shall be interesting to see how it plays out. The elite seems super elite in theory, but then again, a guy like Isaiah Thomas is still an 81 overall. Though, I guess the important stuff are the things between the lines (their individual attributes).
