What is your opinion on him as a player at this current moment?

What do you predict for him this year?

And in 5 years who is he playing for and what do you think unfolded in his career during that time?

What is your opinion on him as a player at this current moment?

A player trying to try different things since his athleticism wont be the same. Needs to be a more of a playmaker IMO, but improvements in his 3 point shot would be good too.

What do you predict for him this year?

As always, it depends on his health. I think he will be decent. If he can ever retain his old form, he can be an all-star again. I doubt it at this point, but you never know.

And in 5 years who is he playing for and what do you think unfolded in his career during that time?

Still be in Chicago, but not the 1st option type player he once was. Should still be a starter, but will defer more.

I feel like the good, hard working, humble kid from 2008 to 2012 is gone. He became spoiled, entitled, manipulated by his brothers and content with his fat contracts unfortunately. He's shown glimpses but little consistency.

You're so soft. Please show me a season where a top 3 player in the NBA didn't rank top 10 in PER.

That's right. You can't.

Bruh, D. Rose wont even be a top 3 PG(CP3, Westbrook, Curry), let alone top 3 overall.

again, westbrook in 2010 better than rose? please explain that one. PER even says Nowitzki is 11th in 2010. joke much?

I think he's a good deal past his prime, which was very short. It seemed like he tried to force the issue too much last year, to the detriment of the Bulls in the playoffs. They were better running things through Pau and Butler. Personally I think that team would be much better with prime Jason Kidd in place of prime Derrick Rose.

You completely misunderstood my point. PER is not a perfect reflection of player rankings. What I said was show me a season where a top 3 player wasn't top 10 in PER.

A top 3 player.

Once again, you said that Derrick Rose would be a top 3 player next season. :oldlol:

Lots of negativity in this thread. If he can stay healthy and develop consistency I could easily see him be an all-star next year. He wasn't that far off from becoming one last year.

Bulls in general are a pretty deep team. There's really no reason anyone should be playing more then 30 mpg other then maybe Jimmy Butler, who maybe should play more then that but definitely not 39 mpg. Their minutes should be managed more like the Spurs. Hopefully the new coach can manage minutes better and as a result, this team could be much better then 50-32. If that happens, Rose should make the all-star team. He might not ever get back to his MVP form, but the Bulls don't really need that anymore.

They don't?

This Bulls team isn't winning shit without Rose returning to MVP form. Every contender in the league right now, other than the Spurs who operate on another plane of basketball existence, has a legit MVP candidate anchoring a deep lineup.

Whether it's LeBron, Curry, Harden, KD/Westbrook, CP3/Blake, they all have one. If their goal is to win 53 games and win a playoff series then yeah, I guess they'll be fine with Rose and his MVP money deal averaging 17/6 on 43% shooting.

They have 4 players who if healthy and consistent can be all-stars (Rose, Butler, Noah, Gasol). Not to mention Mirotic was one of the best rookies in the year last year. They don't need anyone who can be an MVP. Just cause every other team other then the Spurs has one doesn't mean anything. They just need consistency. Doesn't mean they would be favorites or anything.

Selling Leonard/Aldridge a bit short here, I think.

Currently he is a top 25 point guard in the league.

This season he will regress somewhat as games are getting more dependent on 3 point shooting, and he is a point guard who cannot make 3 pointers.

5 years later he will be a backup point guard in the NBA.

He was absolutely detrimental to the Bulls this last post season. I don't know who said he should be taking 20 shots, but when you are averaging basically 20 points on 20 shots...you have no business taking 20 shots. He averaged 21.9ppg on 22.5 shots vs the Cavs in the playoffs. It's not hard to see why Jimmy Butler would have issues with him...

righhhhh, because rose is the one that made a game winner, and jimmy butler gave up a game winner to lebron(even after rose made a clutch basket to give them the lead). Pls, jimmy butler is a glorified role player, 3 assists a game as a shooting guard that plays 44 minutes. right. Let me know when hes averaging 22 points and atleast 5 assists, then he will be as good as his hype and his contract.

Jimmy Butler doesn't have issues with Rose. He speaks very highly of Rose on numerous occassions. And I don't know what series you were watching. Rose stepped down every other game and nobody would step up those games - I think they lost all of them. His leadership meant a ton to the team. In the playoffs, aggression is worth more than efficiency - you obviously didn't see Lebron in the finals either. If you thought Rose was detrimental you obviously didn't see the series. The guy didn't have his wind or legs all the time but when he did have his legs they won those games.
