movies that inspired you to try something new or change something about yourself or forced you to work really hard at something... movies that by the end of it you were ready to climb to the liberty bell like rocky, chart the high seas like depp, save the stunning princess like shrek!
i'll start
ET: The Extraterrestrial
Batman Begins
My Dinner With Andre

Might not be for everyone, but it's pretty amazing.

Glory, specifically the campfire song before the battle. Freeman and Washington singing to rev up their army before the inevitable slaughter carries with it sweet liberation. The liberation frm the fear of death.
October Sky. A backwoods West Virginian coal mining family harnessing their creative energy to create rockets that will soar up up up.
Hobbit Series has to be up there; seeing Bilbo develop.
Of course Rocky IV. The atmosphere during the training and the fight; the manner in which he made peace with the Ruskies and the States.
Although forgettable and cheesy, the quartet of Stand and Deliver/Dead Poets Society/Dangerous Minds/Freedom Writers
and the trio of Remember the Titans/Rudy/Coach Carter did have enormous uplifting impact on education and athletics in the early teen years.

The Perferct Weapon with Jeff Speakman inspired me to start Kenpo Karate. It made me who I am today. A champion blackbelt fighter. My career in fitness, my athleticism, my confidence....all stemmed from this movie. It even helped me to be a better basketball, badminton, and hockey player. All sports I did well in. Watching it recently even inspired me to to go back and train kids in Kenpo and Arnis.

Gotta add Lost Boyz to the list thanks for the reminder.
Eternal life, flight, super strength, letting go, living in some underground cave on the coastline of Cali with a that fancy bed and that fancier lady.
Lovely and uplifting
