AD is a monster and the only thing he really needs to work on is his passing. Even through he got better at that has the season progress in his 3rd season.

Yeah Garnett wasn't even close to this good at age 21. Duncan was also clearly inferior, though, the gap isn't as big as with Garnett.

The only 21-year-olds as good as Davis in league history are Shaq, LeBron, and Jordan.

Is there any data on how many of the shots are assisted on? Seems that AD attempts/hits a lot 0-3 ft from the basket (39% vs TD's 31% and KG's 24%). Alley-hoops/dunks?

The fact that his blocking numbers pretty much dwarfs duncan is amazing. Duncan is one the greatest shot blockers of all time.

AD isn't close to them defensively (his blocks are nice, but his overall rim-protection is average at best) and is wholly dependent on the play of his guards as he can't create his own shot

wow, well then he'll be super dominant when he gets some good guards to play with

It's been pretty well established that AD has an ATG career arc going for him at this point.

Davis' PER is so great because his TO% is low because he does not handle the ball at all as he is 100% offball player who does not create for himself or the others. You can't have your offense depend on him.

Tyson Chandler with a jumper and far worse D

I wouldn't say Davis depends on his guards. He actually makes them look better by being so great in PNR situations and off the ball with his shooting.

Also, the gap between Duncan and Davis' defense is much smaller than the gap between Duncan and Davis' offense at that age. Davis' PPG and extremely low TOV rate/ratio/total is only something only seen out of Jordan and Nowitzki when looking at superstars. And those two guys are probably the most consistent offensive anchors of their eras.

There is no denying that AD can have a career rivaling those guys, but let's not forget that Duncan already had a FMVP under his belt by his 2nd season, and that is much more important than stats as far as how their careers are viewed.
