Just got a gold 87-88 Byron Scott in myteam in 2k15 and he's by far my best player. How good was he IRL? How did he play? I've been using him.like Demar Derozan.

Undersized SG at just 6 foot 3, but very explosive. The way he got in the air for a dunk was something to watch. Very good shooter and explosive on the fast break, when he had his shot going nobody was beating the Lakers.

Cons: Shaky confidence, there were times were he would disappear in the finals, particularly Boston. Because of this you saw Riley go with Cooper during crunch time instead of Scott. He really benefited playing with Magic, really wasn't a guy who can create his own shot. He had a short peak, by age 28 he was putting up around 15 ppg, two years prior he was a 21 ppg scorer.

should probably have made a few allstar games and gotten consideration for the HOF

but then again so should norm nixon and michael cooper

b scott:

1985 champion
season average = 16/3/3
playoff average = 17/3/3

1987 champion
season average = 17/4/3
playoff average = 15/3/3

1988 champion
season average = 22/4/4
playoff average = 20/4/3

all while shooting close to 50% fg's, 40% threes

underrated player for sure... magic had a f*ck load of help

nixon

dude had HOF talent coming out his ass

which is why kobes 2 titles with pauf and sassy/farmer are infinitely more impressive and should more than break the tie of 5 overall between them

Yet only beat 13 50+ win teams, in his 13 postseasons, while getting to the Finals 9x and winning 5 of those.

80's West = worst conference ever for a complete decade.

yeah it was like lebron x10 but without the colluding and barely a +500 finals record

magic definitely is a bit overrated

but if kobes name ever comes up magic becomes underrated. whatever agenda fits ISH that day i guess

Other than a post game, B Scott was pretty good at everything for a 6'3-6'4 guard. I would say he's one of the best SG's to NEVER make an All Star Game. What hurt B Scott was the fact that he wasn't GREAT (scoring, passing, defense, rebounding wise) at anything though.

For example, Scott was a better all around player than Reggie Miller. BUT Miller was a great shooter-scorer with alpha dog shit in his game. So OBVIOUSLY, Miller was the better player. Other than the HOF or HOF peak caliber SG's in his era (MJ, Drexler, Reggie, Mitch, Moncrief, Dumars), B Scott didn't really have to take a backseat to any SG's in his era. B Scott at his best was on par or better than guys such as Hornacek, Hersey Hawkins, Ainge, Jeff Malone,
