Don't really see the problem with it tbh.

His stamina and endurance probably sucks, although that doesn't affect the overall rating much, if at all.

He was rated like 89 or something last year when the game came out, and he only played 6 games the previous season. So I don't have too much of a problem with 85.

Also, from what I heard there's going to be 6 players rated 90+ and 19 players rated 85-90. So Kobe will be around 25th highest rated... which seems okay.

Injuries don't affect ratings, he is a 50 in that cat.

i kill it with kobe online

i got his fade down ... i hit 70% fg's regularly online

my record was taking a hit while using other teams. but i've won like 8 out of my last 10

no one on ISH can take me.. not even with g-state or cleveland

i drop 50 with kobe regularly

anyone can add me on xbox one... "kennethgriffin" is my SN

same as on ISH

i figured out how to regulate kobes stamina so he never has to come out of a game..

A) never use turbo unless you absolutely have to

B) but kobe at PG and walk the ball up the floor

C) regulate time outs wisely. use the ones youl lose in the 2nd half

d) use both 20 second time outs. dont waste the one in the 1st half

e) momentum/winning/scoring helps sustain his stamina

Can't help but ironize Stephen A. Smith's facial reaction here... He is the apologist who would rebuke pundits that DIDN'T rank Kobe in their top-20 enumerations.

Also, NBA 2K appraises their player ratings at peak value far more than it does for consistency--hence Kobe's overrated defense on all recent editions, despite how his efforts lethargized on defense—save for when he's self-relieved of most of his offensive workload in a game—from reality's vantage point years ago.

Yes. They have stamina, endurance, and durability (injury) stats.

Personally, I turn injuries off during Franchise mode, because sometimes they're just ridiculous. On my main MyPlayer career, I'm on the Warriors, and last season we lost Curry, Klay, and Bogut for the year to injuries. :facepalm

It's not like he lost his skills as a player...his problem is staying healthy. Healthy Kobe is still good for 20/5/5 a night, easily...

I read it as 65 at first, which I thought was a little low. I would give him a 70.

But 85 is just absurd. With all that money the Lakers are paying him, maybe there were some under the table convos between Kobe and 2K sports. :lol

At least we know what Kobe is spending his money on. Anything to protect his reputation.

Lame ass player spotted.

I love destroying cheesers who do crap like this such as putting lebron or wade at pg.

This has to be JT123 alt.....nobody else talks about kobe like him lol....anyways who gives a fvck what 2k rates him? Will that affect your life in anyway? If he had a 90 rating, what would you gain from that? Nothing? So why worry yourself about someone else? Honestly you really need help....something is wrong with your fvcking head

 at the thought that you'd think Kobe would give a sh*t about his 2K rating, 2K wasn't around when he was a kid, it's not the newer generation where they're 'just trying to get my 2K rating up'

Kobe wouldn't give a f*ck

He's pretty active on social media, which wasn't around during his time either.

You're buying into the alpha Kobe persona he's been trying to portray for the past 20 years.

He's insecure and more petty than you could ever imagine. He DOES care about his 2K rating... A LOT.

But if asked about it, he'll put on his Kobe badass persona and play it off.... and his stupid fans will eat it up "WOW KOBE SO ALPHA HE DONT GAF!!!!!!! "

Just like they tried saying he'd never be on social media. Back when they'd get on LeBron for being on there...

But low and behold... Kobe the ultimate attention whore decides he needs to be on twitter too, so he can fit in. Beta.

Sounds about right. He still has the overall skill set to be an 85 but should not be an efficient scorer or a good defender. Just a guy that can make open shots, create off the dribble. No more automatic Kobe cheese.

Wasn't Demarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis like low 80s in 2k15?

Wtf lol.... 68-75? Those are Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson ratings... Here you have someone that averaged like 23/5/5 and could go for 30-40 on any given night. His defense sucks shit but he's 80+ based on offense alone.

Both cousins and Davis are high 80s. Not that overall means jack shit... Tim Duncan is rated like 90 and he's not that great in the game....

:applause: Underrated post, especially the bolded. Balbe tries so hard to act like he doesn't give a shit about what other people think, yet when ESPN ranked him as 40th best player last season he practically cried. :oldlol:
Kobe's 2K rating should be in the 69-73 range
