The girl in question.

The left one, before, is for swimsuit magazines.

The right one, after, is for catwalks.

I've never understood the uproar about this.

The fashion industry want a certain look. You are not it. Move on. Why do we need fake uproar about this whole thing.

"OMG she is a beautiful woman! How could this happen?"

Yeah, she is, but she isn't what is wanted in the industry she is trying to make it in. It is like an average joe trying to be put in a fitness mag just because he hit the gym for a while, got fairly muscly, but no where close enough to be put in the mag, and then complains.

Sorry, but you just aren't cut out for it.

Agree. My girlfriend has worked in the fashion industry in the past (and is getting back in to that field now) and they don't just want pretty girls they want girls to fit certain looks. A lot of the time for high fashion they are after more unusually pretty girls rather than standard hot girls.

I'm sure this girl could get work doing swimsuit shoots for regular catalogues and the like but it's a different world trying to get in to high end modelling.

And even if it is offensive to some people to want someone skinnier it's the companies right to ask that isn't it? No one gets offended when we say Raymond Felton got fat and needs to lose weight, no one gets offended when we say Porziginis is a stick figure and needs to put on muscle. If that's the requirement for your job and you can't fulfil then find another industry.

i think the industry puts unrealistic expectations on women and am all for magazines who are avoiding photoshop but at the same time lots of other mediums are doing this and it works in generating profits.

Also no one talks about how 90% of the male actors these days use steroids and then talk about how they went from thin to bulked in a month thus setting unrealistic standards for men either. There was a dealer a while back talking about how he had Hollywood clients (he strongly implied hugh jackman used him to go from skinny in one film to ripped for an x-men film) but the story doesn't get attention.

The right one, after, is for catwalks.

The one on the left is attractive. The one on the right has an eating disorder and needs treatment.

They essentially want the women to be clothes hangers, thus want them skin and bone.

It obviously isn't unreasonable, considering how many people there are with the same body type as these models. It is reasonable and it is achievable for all women. The facts are it takes lots of hard work and dedication to achieve that body type-hard work that a majority of women aren't willing to do. So they cry victim instead to hope the meanie poo pictures go away.

Most of these models have anorexia or their genetics allow them to be this skinny without suffering health wise. So I don't really what hardwork are you talking about. These are not bodybuilders these people just naturally very skinny or they go to extreme methods.

Not really. There's different overall body types. Yes everyone can get to a healthy weight but not everyone can put on mass and not everyone can get stick thin. Penn and teller did a good bullshit episode on body types.

I will say though, she carries her weight nicely though. Even at that skinny weight she still has an ass on her. Too skinny for me, but pretty girl.

By achievable for all via hard work, you mean through unhealthy eating habits.

You don't have to starve yourself to be skinny.

You don't have to do anything unhealthy to be skinny either.

In fact, you can eat what you want. Just, cut your meal by 2/3's and you'll still be full when you're finished.

People aren't meant to consume 1200 calories per meal, yet America does it every day. That, to me, is unhealthy.

In the 1990s lots of them had anorexia. Nowadays most of them are pretty healthy, they're just thin. Being thin doesn't mean you're anorexic.

No. It is achievable to eat healthy and exercise and get a body like a fashion model, while not being anorexic or bulemic, believe it or not! :O

Sounds like a fat kid, or he has a fat SO.

Make you a normal meal, put it on your plate, and then cut half of it off. Drink 8oz of water before you eat, and then eat whatever it is you wanted.

Eat the second half of your meal the next day.

You'll lose weight within a few days, and won't be hungry. If you are, grab an apple.

It's not rocket science.

I knew someone who got offered a few modeling gigs when they were younger and she was curvy not fat or skinny or anything and also tall for their age. I guess it depends on what the fashion job is for? :confusedshrug:

The problem has to do with her body shape, which isn't the shape of a fashion model. Her ass isn't "big" because she eats a lot, it's genetics in this case. They are looking for a specific profile in terms of height, bodyshape (no curves) etcetera. If your genetics don't match up with their profile then you are out of luck.

This is same thing as a 160cm women saying she got turned away from the model agency because she was too fat. No, you are too short.

And you have to be incredibly narcissistic and delusional to make a video like that. What an ugly person.

I think the NBA should allow me to play because you shouldnt have to fit a certain 'type' to be accepted. :facepalm

I love how white knight dipshits always come out to say how wrong the fashion industry is for not hiring average girls.

Hey dumbf*cks, if you want to be PAID for doing nothing, you have to be BEYOND AVERAGE. Far beyond it.

This chick isn't a model... sorry. Find a different way to make money, bitch.
