Started in the 70's...so lets say '75 that was 40 years ago.....divide 40 years by 4 places on Rushmore. 4 decades. 4 rappers.

'75-'85 = DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Fab Five Freddy, Marley Marl, Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Moe Dee, Kurtis Blow, Doug E. Fresh

85-95 = Run-D.M.C. and LL Cool J, Juice Crew, Public Enemy, Eric B. & Rakim, Boogie Down Productions and KRS-One, EPMD, Slick Rick, Beastie Boys, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Ultramagnetic MCs, De La Soul, and A Tribe Called Quest.

95-05 = Schoolly D, N.W.A, Ice-T, Ice Cube, Geto Boys, 2pac, Biggie

05-15 = Eminem, Kanye, Jay-Z
