On a regular basis. Let's say ISH 2055 (search feature added in 2038, server upgrade in 44, mobile app in 50).
Wilt and Russell are the two who get regular mention from the 60s. Oscar and West get semi-regular mention, and Baylor and Thurmond get the occasional shout out.
Will the ISH kids in 2055 be debating Duncan, Kobe and Lebron's all-time rankings in the weak era of the teens? Will they be arguing whether a time travelled Lebron can compete with Cyborg Shaq clones who can dunk from the three point line?

Durant, LeBron, and Davis.
All three will eventually be in the all-time top 5
LeBron already is, he could retire today and be in the top 5.
Durant is set to win numerous titles and multiple MVP's... he's a lock.
Davis won't start winning until KD fizzles out, kinda like when MJ starting winning when the Pistons, Lakers, Celtics all fizzled out. MJ would be ringless if not for father time.
But anyway, in 40 years, this is what the top 5 will look like:
1. Kevin Durant
2. LeBron James
3. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
4. Anthony Davis
5. Michael Jordan

Most of the guys playing today will be forgotten 40 years from now. Lebron/Kobe will be mentioned because their names will be on some of the all time lists like scoring. Even guys like Durant, CP3 etc who are great today will forgotten in time. There are no Wilt's, MJ's, Kareem's in the NBA today, guys that transcend time. I think this will be looked at as a weak era. More impactful players make come along in the future perhaps. As the years go by people forget. Also the media likes to push whatever is present as the best thing ever which most of the time it's not the case.

Kobe is never going to die here, and why should he? He's a top 10 all time player. LeBron will be talked about more if he can manage to win a title or two more. I don't think people will be talking about Wade too much, I will though.
As for players like AD and KD, the jury is still out. I give AD the advantage for being so young and having more a window of winning than Durant does at the moment

It's not what people say now, it's what they will say 40 years from now.
I think Lebron will be remembered, because he has a great resume at only 30, and the Cavs team is stacked with young talent, so there's a good chance Lebron can win some more titles.
Kobe less so, because there was an MJ who broke ground before him. I would guess Shaq will garner more discussion in 40 years than Kobe, because Shaq is a once in a generation big, like Wilt.
Lebron and Shaq have unique physiques, and people will wonder decades from now how they would fit into a bigger, stronger faster era, just like they do with Wilt.
Anyway, you'll probably be alive to hear all that, if you remain interested in basketball.

They won't say that about Lebron's era because it simply isn't true. There won't even be the same arguments to make.

You sound drunk.
Kobe who has the highest scoring game of the modern era televised wont be remembered? :coleman:
Lebron Kobe Duncan, in that order IF Lebron wins a few more chips.
Duncan is lowest because he is less publicized and glamorous.
Duncan will be the guy people say.. "You know who deserves more recognition? Tim Duncan" The savvy fans in 40 years will say that.
Kobe vs Shaq will be greatly known. They'll probably make a movie about it.
