There are a lot more people with Bill Gates mental potential than Lebrons athletic potential. A lot more has to fall in place to turn intellect into wealth than absurd athletic ability.

Lebron could be in the NBA without many basketball skills just off his mobility at his size allowing him to be a top flight defender. At 18 he could also walk on at many colleges and get a free education or a place to show his potential and hope to be drafted.

You cant just....be a genius and have chances like that fall into your lap.

There are people even in the first world with brilliant minds born into situations that will never lead to being similar to Bill Gates.

Not many people Lebrons size with his mobility fail to have someone notice.

Much easier path.

LeBrons athleticism easily, as long as I can still look like myself just with Lebron James esque height, limb length, and combination of speed/power.

Bill Gates is far from being the most intelligent person. Check out some of these physics dudes at universities who would shit on him. His success is more so with luck and opportunities. HE didn't even invent his idea.

only way I'd consider Bill Gates is if I get his money, and social connections. even then I wouldn't even bite since money is far from being the most rewarding thing.

Kblaze8855
09-05-2015, 09:41 PM
Really....give yourself Gates mind today.

what are you tomorrow?

A(probably) brighter you already locked into the life you are leading. What...you gonna build another microsoft with an all new idea from scratch? Or just be one of millions of bright people living a normal life? Notice how Gates isnt coming up with a new idea and making a new 100 billion dollar company? Think he wouldnt if he could? He caught lightning in a bottle. You dont just...replicate it by being equally bright.

There is no way there arent thousands(maybe millions) of smarter people not doing a damn thing because their brilliance is in a less useful area or they dont have the upbringing Bill did. Bills father founded a law firm in the 40s thats now one of the 10 largest in the world. Think his son had a bit of a head start?

How many Lebrons are there on earth?

You wake up as a 6'8'' 260 pound guy who can move like hes 6'1''.....

Your likelyhood of quickly turning that into something...much better.

You could literally get a shot as a pro athlete off a glance from the right person. There are NFL players who got there after only getting to college just because someone saw a big kid loading tires and figured he might be a good walk on.

Nobody just offers a smart guy a shot at a glance.

LBJ. Hands down.

Lebron brings people to their feet. Kids grow up wanting to be him. People both adore and hate him. He moves people, excites them and inspires them. Wherever he plays there is always a packed house.

Bill Gates, whilst a brilliant man and incredibly intelligent doesn't do anything that touches people in the same way.

Well athletically I'm not in his league and there's no amount of training that could get me there. On the other hand it's possible to learn and improve your knowledge so there's that. I'll take the athleticism I can't create and roll with it.

Im sure most dont make anywhere near that.

Most genius is probably wasted or even not noticed.

Smart people are everywhere. Some even appear to be idiots until you get to know them.

I came up with a kid who couldnt figure out to push a door that said pull.....but he could read before everyone and turned out to be rather brilliant. Went to Harvard believe it or not...but he didnt graduate. And his story didnt end with him quitting school to be a billionaire.

I think you assume Bill Gates had to be smarter than he did to amass his wealth and be a part of building that company. Not like he was the only one there....or the biggest ideas came from him alone.

Paul Allen was right there...hell Paul allen named it Microsoft and convinced him to leave school and work with him. It too ka lot of people to do what they did. Bill wasnt just pulling it out of his ass.

He had teams of brilliant people...and he wasnt the one hiring them either.

He didnt just....be so smart Microsoft was inevitable.

Some of the smartest people in the world cant do shit with it but play chess.

Id be surprised if Gates were as intelligent as Bobby Fischer...not that you could really measure it.

I'm 5'8. Even if I woke up tomorrow with LeBron's athleticism I would be Nate Robinson at best. Most likely not even that as Nate practiced basketball all his life. I'd probably be hoping to make some football team roster as a RB and have no guarantees there. Really, my life could be a life full of failure despite being so fast and jumping so high with all that athleticism.

While, if I had genius IQ, I would at least be super smart and could make a great living. Not just till I'm 40, but much afterwards too. I may not be a billionaire like Bill, but still imo a great shot at a very high (200k-2m if I focus my mind on the things that make money) salary. Sure I might fail there too, but if you focus all that brilliance on money, you will find a way to make money. Its that simple.

as someone earlier said, mocking Ryan Fitzgerald for not having a successful career is so inaccurate. Being drafted that late and still being relevant for 11 years means he was way over his worth of where he got drafted.

There's too many variables in this question. i honestly would rather be Gates. I'm not a fan of the spotlight and if I'm Lebrons size and athleticism I would probably be a professional athlete since I would have lebrons brain which is inferior to Gates

The thing is, Gates attended Harvard and from people I know who went there always rave on and on about the potential networking offered through clubs, meetings, classmates. You could legitimately work in a high end investment bank with any major from Harvard and start with a close to 6 figure if not 6 figures. Can't say the same about most of the other ivys. Only Wharton business undergrad than Harvard may carry more weight on Wall Street. If I had Bill Gates brain, I probably would try to be an entrepreneur like he was. Luck plays a huge role in billionaires net worth. I would honestly even take Mark Cuban brains and perseverance despite probably not having the brain power of Gates or Allen, he was very business savy person who cashed out a company that reached its peak worth and he ends of selling it to Yahoo before the market crashes at the dot com burst.

Therefore I prefer the brain of an intellect like Gates and not just a man who was given everything in terms of athleticism

Bill Gates was smart enough to make some great business deals with what was basically an inferior knockoff product. I don't specifically know that that necessarily means he's smarter than LeBron.

LeBron's athleticism is far, far, far more rare than Bill Gates' intelligence. If you have Gates' smarts, there are absolutely no guarantees you'll be successful in life. Like KBlaze pointed out, Gates had a huge leg up in life seeing as how his family was already rich. So him dropping out of college wasn't as big a deal as it would've been if he was some poor kid who was on financial aid. Who knows how his life would've turned out if he didn't have that safety net.

With Bron's athleticism/body, you're virtually guaranteed a spot on any NBA roster. Even if you don't have much basketball skill, you'd still be a freakish 6'8" 260+ lb athlete who could get boards, defend multiple positions, etc. Guaranteed millionaire.

There are plenty of people who are more intelligent than Bill Gates but how many people walking on the planet right now are more athletic than LeBron James?

Akrazotile

Very complex question.

First thing you have to really realize is that despite what some people try to convince you, Lebron DOES have a huge c0ck. I mean, that's just point blank period. It's bigger than Kobe's, and bigger than Jordan's. We saw it, we know it, we accept it. That's it. It is a legit "fire hose situation". He was blessed, amply. And those posters trying to downplay it clearly seem to be thinking about his junk a bit too often, which is honestly pretty damn gay.

Now as for smarts or athleticism... Meh, I guess it's a tossup.

Other people invented actually BASIC and DOS, Bill Gates just happened to be the guy who had the connections to sell BASIC to Commodore and DOS to IBM.

Gates was a better businessman than computer mind.

Look at Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Jobs still gets credit for all of Wozniak's hard work.

That said, I'd still rather be smart, even somebody with LeBron's natural athleticism still needs to work extremely hard everyday to get to and stay in the NBA. One injury when still developing could **** up your whole life.

I don't consider height part of athleticism. Speed, strength, vertical, quickness? Sure. But if we're including LeBron's James' height along with weight, then why can't we include Bill Gates' knowledge of wealthy investors along with the habits and idiosyncrasies of those investors?

If I had Bill Gates' smarts as well as innovation, I'd walk right up to a guy like Elon Musk with a business plan for Tesla. I'd walk up to Tim Cook on how Apple could successfully break into Apple TV and Apple Music. I wouldn't get blocked by HR because I could simply dial their personal cells or get in touch with the right people since Gates' I'm assuming already knows them. I'd know the type of presentations Musk/Cook/Zuckerburg fall for and start pitching ideas left and right.

I don't consider myself a genius like Gates and I already make six figures in NYC. If I had his genius I'd probably immerse myself in the start up world and figure out exactly which markets were fresh for picking.

At the very least I'd have insider info on a ton of tech sector companies, especially microsoft and I'd buy a buy or short a ton of stocks accordingly.
