Just gauging how my ISHers view this subject. How much do you know? Does it affect the way you eat?
I avoid GMO whenever I can. I don't want to give money to ***** that want to control the food supply with patent monopolies and also because of the dubious knowledge with regards to long term health effects.

My gripes with GMO is the environmental impact it's having. We know that the seeds are engineered to be disease/pesticide/bug/etc resistant and it's starting to have ripple effects with super bugs emerging and more pesticides being used. All that pesticide and chemicals being used isn't good for us all because it ends up going back to the water stream. There's also other well documented environmental incidents. Also the whole Monsanto bullying poor farmers and having a monopoly on the seed supply is downright BS. Honestly, **** these guys.
But the impact it has on our bodies? Studies really haven't shown any impact although maybe those scientists were sponsored by Monsanto or w/e.

Celiac sensitivity is a joke. Your friends are more likely to have AIDS. That being said, if you actually have gluten sensitivity life is a bitch.
GMO's are good. We need to feed more and more people and the history of agriculture is built upon genetically modified crops. The bad part of GMO's are the insane legalities surrounding the seeds and ownership. It's bullshit and needs to be changed.

I have a strong feeling that people that are anti-GMO don't even know what it is.

No. It's all bullshit. Work out every day and keep your calories appropriate to your goals.

Lol, the fitness community is actually the least conscious about the subject.

I am perfectly fine with the science behind GMOs, but im not a fan of how they are used in practice.
For the most part, the majority of GMO seeds for sale were not modified to increase yield, or grow in harsh climates, they are modified to be resistant to pesticides (pesticides that are generally made by the seed manufacturer). Ultimately these GMO seeds result in massive amounts of pesticides being used, and im not crazy about eating glyphosate, so I try to eat organic as much as possible.

People come in all the time into my clinic and talk about how they've changed their diets to reduce their imbalance. I have no idea why/how that happens, probably placebo like most people who have a gluten allergy but if it works for them so be it. I just sit back and smile...

This. Unless you have an actual condition gluten is fine. I've had to do gluten free to eliminate things for other tests and i think a lot of the people who say they feel better gluten free just feel better because they aren't eating all the junk they usually eat on an unrestricted diet, nothing to do with the actual gluten. People these days think gluten free is a weight loss diet though lol

I really dont give a **** about what a comedian who denies climate change and "debunked" the dangers of second hand smoke thinks about organic food.

I don't think he denied climate change, I thought his opinion was that most of the reasons given for climate change are bullshit (which is party correct).

I'm glad to see the most of you don't fall into the hype. I'll really glad that some do still support GMO. I am neither here nor there. My company went non-GMO and gluten free to appeal to the masses. Unfortunately the natural health community is so fickle they will find something wrong still.
