Lat night a friend asked me to work the bar on a yatch party for Rock Star Energy Drink. I got to say, what an experience. I have a totally new perspective on people getting drunk. You literally see the progression of sober to messy in the span of a couple of hours. Here's a few things I experienced last night.
People love to talk. I've heard a few life's stories. When people drink, they want to spill their guts. I listened to a divorced guy trying to get back with his wife. He told me everything including his sex life. These life story people drink faster when they talk. I can see why bartenders spend time with the talkers.
Guys love to show money. It's like pulling a wad is the sign to be important. Funny how many times it happens and I hear another guy at the other end say "what a douche"
Women are by far sloppier than men. They get drunk FAST. Then they get a sense of entitlement thinking they can pull whatever they want. When you point it out they get extremely aggressive.
Girls want to hook up. It's weird. It's like they think they can get something out of it by flirting. They don't want other other guys. They want the free drink. Unless buddy has the wad. Lol. Women will exploit anything to get what they want. Well the club goers at least. Guys use cash, girls use sex appeal.
Vodka is extremely popular. More than any other drink. I thought it was beer. Well maybe it was the atmosphere. A yatch party is a calling for vodka.
Got to say, this might be my calling. I'm gonna keep on with the supplement industry, but now, I think I might take a shot at bartending school. I've always talked about owning a bar here in Philadelphia. I think this may be my retirement plan.

Have you considered becoming a budtender? What state do you live in?

Format this correctly then I'll consider reading it.

Penn.
Sorry bro, not into weed. I feel if your going to do that, you got to be into the product. I'm a beer and scotch snob so there is a bit of passion behind it

I can tell this is something you seemed to really enjoy based on how you wrote it so don't worry about that dude. You just threw down thought after thought.

I went sober for a month and it was weird seeing the exact same thing. The progression from sober to drunk...it's hard being sober around drunk people. Really quite annoying.

OP, when I was single I had a buddy who went to be a bartender in Cancun for a summer. Is it true that bartenders get laid a lot? He wasn't a handsome dude at all but he was fit and he said that as long as you're a great listener, girls get really frisky and throw themselves at bartenders. Is there any truth to any of that?

I wasn't bothered. But if someone is gonna be a smarty pants then give me an example instead of being a douche

At this party yeah, I was getting flirted with. I'd say I'm a good looking guy. Chicks were definitely into me. Also buying me shooters. Girls are all about, "will you do one with me?" I told one girl I worked for Dymatize and always looking for promo girls. This one bikini model was on me for the rest of the night wanting a sponsorship. I probably could have got with her, but I'm married so no. But I did get the digits. For professional reasons of course. I doubt I could have hooked up with her if I was just a random at the party.
I'd imagine the bartenders that work at nite clubs get more poon considering it is an easy ticket to the club.

Why, is it difficult to get one? I have a few friends that have opened restaurants that have had no trouble

Having lived in Philly, there were three bars about a mile from where I lived that were amazing. One had a hip hop theme (to sit down for drinks and foods was really rare at the bar or the multiple tables in the bar b/c it was always jam packed on thursdays-saturdays, had food there once and was very impressed by the quality of bar food they had) and the other was more high end/fancy (high quality beers, great drinks but was expensive). Third had really cheap meals and were close to the library. It was a good late night dinner. I think it was like $7-$8 for burger, fries, and one beer. Not a bad deal at all.

I agree with you, girls definitely try to get drinks by acting that way.

I went to a high end bar in the Bay Area earlier this summer and the bartender was probably the hottest girl I've seen in a long time. Seemed a little stuck up though but she was getting massive tips from a few guys a few seats from us.

It's too bad you didnt realize this before becoming a bartender. You will see what society really is all about behind that counter. Good luck on your journey, sir.
