Sell them for more than they cost to make. Try to get a third party to drop ship.

Sarcasm. This has gotta be sarcasm.
OP: I sell shirts on eBay. I get 'em for $4, and make about $6 profit on each shirt after ebay/PayPal/shipping fees. It's a nice little side gig that more or less covers the $1200 I pay in rent each month.
I suggest buying in bulk, the more you buy, the cheaper each item costs. That's hugely important in a low profit margin enterprise like this.
I'm looking into printing my own shirts too. Huge money saver if you're selling graphic t-shirts.

One tip that will be the difference between you succeeding or failing.
REPEAT BUYERS WILL MAKE UP 80% OF YOUR EARNINGS
You never make the sale and let the customer go. If they buy from you once, make sure they will buy again. Email marketing is extremely strong nowadays. Collect the email of everyone who buys from you and send them a promotional email on some new gear you have at least once a week. If they were happy with the initial purchase, a lot of them will buy again. It will become routine for them to go to you when they need new clothes.
Once you build your email list to thousands or even hundreds of thousands of repeat buyers, that is where the real money comes in.
You send one email a week to like 10k people, if even 1% of them ending up buying $10 worth of merchandise from you, you will make $10k. Thats how millions are made.
But first obviously you need to create buzz around your items. Set up a website, make some pictures and videos of models wearing the clothes, set up social media accounts, and keep pushing. It will take time to get off the ground but if your products are truly of high quality, you will succeed.
Good luck brother.
EDIT: A email list doesnt need to be only for buyers. I advise you to start collecting the emails of people interested in your products, then send them offers encouraging them to buy. Give them deals like buy one, get one free. Just get them in the door as a buyer.
You collect their emails by setting up something on your site that encourages them to sign up. For example, a giveaway. Be like - "Like our gear? Enter a raffle and win 100 shirts FREE! Sign up now!". Once you get their info, you can start giving them offers.

Currently own a business, but I was also in the apparel business in the past. You will find that that industry has really been on the decline. Less people are purchasing from small brands, and more are trending towards big retailers. Hence why karmaloop went down.
Where are you getting your blanks from? Or are your products cut & sew? You won't be successful in this business unless you can get your stuff directly from a factory in China. (Not a 3rd party)

explain this math
1% of 10000 people is 100 people.
if they each buy $10 worth of stuff, how do you make $10k?

Make an absurdly offensive shirt that will cause controversy and get your company some name recognition. Something like "god hates ****, but it's ok because **** don't believe in god".
