Why are there no good FPS games nowadays?

Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, Halo 3 and Team Fortress 2 all released in the same year, and were all amazing games. Besides selling a shitload, they were really good in themselves, unlike the FPS games nowadays. Destiny is the only popular FPS game that's original in the last few years, but it's trash. Completely mindless stuff. Then you have the same old crap with COD every year, and the new Halo which looks boring.

wolfenstein new order was actually a good game, Far Cry 4 was a really good game, new halo is coming, battlefield is still good, battlefront is coming. There's still a few decent games. Third Person shooters have become more popular though as they can add other elements easier.

Um... the best online FPS ever is out there right now? BF4... The BF series is what its all about, for the best experience preferably on a gaming PC, with gaming keyboard/mouse/mat/joystick etc. where it belongs.

I wish someone would make a good world war one game, over the second world war and the modern/future war games. I liked wolfenstein new order because it went the alt history route which made it interesting.

BF4 is so much fun, so many game modes. I love the hardcore conquest mode, if you're a very sniper, there are tons of places you can hide and go ham on the hostiles. You can use
tanks, helicopters, jets, humvees etc... GOAT FPS :bowdown:

Really? The millions of ways you can rape in that game.... infantry weapons (which is all very realistic ballistics/bullet drop, compared to say CS or COD at least), transport, tanks, artillery, npc, aa, af, planes, choppers, boats and so on with all modes in ridicilously big or small maps with all in it being destructable will fit any gamestyle & any acquired taste... if you havent found something fun there then you wont find fun in any fps game out there ever...

I wouldn't say the good guys lost, but you are correct neither side was a clear cut bad game in that fight and while it's hard to predict if Germany had of won we probably would have had a more peaceful future after that. You could make the game where neither side is presented as the typical good side. Make it more about how bad the conflict was for both sides and how both sides were just regular people. Do a campaign from a british perspective and an alternate from a german, make you play both sides of some of the same battles and see the reasoning behind both sides moves at the time.

Im not sure if we can label it a straight up fps game though? Its more of a rpg with 1st & 3rd person view... can 3rd person on vehicles in BF4 aswell, but that is only for observation, cant aim/fly safely like that...

Whatever the case may be Fallout 4 is gona be awesome, loved the series, love rpg bethesda games.

The real question is if it's an improved on previous titles, which I'm not sure it is. The game launched as a buggy mess too, it took a while for the multiplayer to even become playable.
