K-State officials say the university will fine itself and suspend its band director from a game following a marching band routine that some say was inappropriate.

The potential violation occurred during Saturday's game against South Dakota. During halftime, the band depicted the KU Jayhawk eating, what the band director, said was supposed to be the Starship Enterprise. Several people who saw the video thought different.
