:oldlol:
No, the Bad Boy Pistons, as a team at the height of their powers, beat (not owned) Jordan ascending to his peak (not quite there yet) and a raw, young Pippen.
In 1989 the Bulls handed the Pistons their only two losses of the playoffs in the ECF. Pippen was a 23-year old who averaged 14-6-4 for the season and 13-8-4 in the playoffs. In 1990 he was good and the Bulls took the Pistons 7 games despite Pippen still being a year or two from really being in his prime.
Nevermind the considerable size advantage Jordan and Pippen would have over Thomas and Dumars, the version of Jordan and Pippen you claim Thomas and Dumars "owned" wasn't the best version of Jordan and Pippen. And it wasn't Thomas and Dumars doing the "owning." It was the entire Bad Boy Pistons team and their depth and defensive scheming.

shaqs needs an elite alpha kobe/wade type player in order to get by tough opponents in the playoffs
because shaq ( as great as he is ) tended to choke. and needed another guy to step in when these moments occurred

jordan was prime by 1988... hense the league mvp
he just got squashed by bird/zeke because they knew how to play him
smarter basketball back in the day. 90's teams let jordan do whatever he wanted. the refs helped a bit too

Shaq and..... whoever.
shaq literally had "whoever" out of the leagues star pool throughout his career
only elite alpha clutch assassins pared with oneal turned out successful
and only kobe was capable of averaging 25-30 ppg as a successful 2nd option
no other high scoring duo like that was ever a multiple time champion
so it literally had to be kobe
if you put in a jordan type.. they clash.. jordan wouldnt be able to play second option and be able to work his way around shaq to get 30 for himself aswell
this is what made kobe and shaq the deadliest combo. theyre unique
neither had to sacrifice
2001 was the best example

Where did I say Jordan wasn't in his prime in by then? I was clearly referring to Pippen who didn't really reach the heart of his prime and start peaking until around '93 or '94. The version of Pippen that got "owned" by the Pistons wasn't the best version of Pippen. Not even close. Nevermind everything else you completely ignore that'd give Jordan and Pippen a pretty massive advantage in a 2-on-2 setting. Picking Thomas and Dumars to beat Jordan and Pippen, if all four players are the best versions of themselves, is just pathetically stupid and really telling of your agenda.

So in a matter of 2-3 years (the first year Jordan lost to the Pistons in 1988 to the time he won his first championship in 1991) years the teams just got astronomically dumber and the refs just started letting Jordan and his teams do whatever the hell they wanted? Is that what you're insinuating?

First you say this in one post....
if you put in a jordan type.. they clash.. jordan wouldnt be able to play second option and be able to work his way around shaq to get 30 for himself aswell
Then you say this.
So is Jordan not an "elite alpha"? And if he is an "elite alpha", why couldn't he and Shaq work together since you claim Shaw "needs an elite alpha..." to win?

jordan is elite and alpha as the #1 guy. but he would pout and sabotage if he was forced to be the 2nd guy

Ahh right, of course. That makes perfect sense. Jordan is only an "elite alpha" in certain situations but someone like Kobe is an "elite alpha" in any situation.

So you're admitting that Kobe was the second option to Shaq throughout their time together with the Lakers? Second option rings are counted as 0.5, right? What does that do to Kobe's total in your warped version of reality? 2000 should count as zero too, the Shaq carry was too strong.

i would say more along the lines of "pulling a lebron"
but even saying that is far fetched considering lebron doesn't have much to pull on

If by "whoever" you mean "all time great SG" then yes I agree with this post.
