How will people remember kobe in 25 years?

my answer : top 15 player, piggybacked shaq, slightly inefficient, 81, colorado, bad teammate, only 1 mvp, 05-06 scoring spree, inferior to lebron, last of a kind in an era of increased analytics usage, true warrior.

What do you think?

2nd GOAT behind Lebron.

He'll get the Elgin Baylor treatment.

Lebron's more of an Oscar. Had GOAT considerations, but those will fade as new superstars rack up impressive numbers. Still impressive enough to be mentioned decades from now.

kobes youtube clips are insanely impressive/aesthetically pleasing/inspiring and unlike anything we see today

the isolation freelance playstation god mode do it all fundamentally sound perfected footwork, shooting form, dunking creativity, jaw dropping distance shot making, and being the greatest difficult shot maker of all time

20-30 years from now we may never see another jordan/kobe type with as much polished attributes for their position. with the way the game has changed into a softer 3 point spot up team passing game. fans will look back at something thats missing and hold kobe to a higher regard

babe ruth = 1 mvp ...

nobody cares.

its about being a trancendant athlete

and with kobe being part of the oldschool mentality. once his retirement boost hits with the depletion of hatred due to being out of the spotlight. fans of the 80s,90s,00's will all back kobe regardless of whether or not theyre a fan of his. just based on the argument between the new generation and the softer/weaker talent/game

I don't care about their opinions. Magic changes his all the time and Shaq says whatever. And I certainly don't give a rat's ass about your opinion.

I have not seen one educated basketball fan list Kobe higher than Magic on GOAT lists. Now this may be hard for you so I'll break it down.
Magic was a Laker his whole career.
Magic>Kobe
Magic as a Laker>Kobe as a Laker.
Magic=GOAT Laker. Now stfu fgt.

If you're really going to try to argue that Kobe is higher than Magic on any GOAT list when Magic is consensus top 4-5 at worst and no educated person has Kobe top 5 at all you're just as much of a delusional Kobetard as Kenneth.

rapist, team cancer.

to the casual fan that's what he's become

to the NBA fans he'll be remembered as a borderline top 10 star who was the closest we had to Jordan in how they played and how entertaining they were.

Probably the best modern scorer ever. His peak ppg and his "impossible shot" style are going to be what keeps him remembered. However, he's not really seen as one of the all-time great winners right now so I'm not sure how that would change after he retires. I'm hoping Shaq will always be remembered as better (which he was) but Shaq's laziness may hurt his legacy years from now. Kobe's definitely top10 by people who know basketball, or at least close to there (since he's basically a better Jerry West). He had a great career, just not top5 worthy (no shame in that).

Kobe will be remembered as one of the greatest NBA players of all-time, greatest overachiever, greatest scorers in NBA history, the games greatest competitor since MJ, last of the great gladiators of the NBA, and the most misunderstood player.

have to agree here. all you gotta do is youtube kobe and you will see some pretty amazing stuff. granted there are a fair share of kobe fail videos but the thing that will stand out most is 81 points. that alone makes him legendary.

in 25 years, for the fact that he is an alltime laker great will keep him relevant. his legacy will definitely grow based on his scoring ability and game winners where guys who were alot more quiet, duncan, etc will fade.

also, ill go as far as saying in 25 years kids will say kobe is better than jordan who played in a weak era. happens every generation...

Which is a complete falsehood. Jordan played in an era with more Hall of Famers than any other era, and certainly more Hall of Famers than Kobe's time in the league will have. Jordan raised the standard of basketball skill and popularized the game worldwide. That's why it's called the "Jordan era", there is no "Kobe era". Jordan is both the best and so clearly the greatest that there is no need for a discussion.

That's nice but people won't remember it like that. They remember Shaq for the 1st three chips (whether it's fair or not). They will also remember when Kobe quit on his teams which hurts his legacy a lot IMO, like it will hurt Bron's. It just doesn't help Kobe that he was mostly overshadowed in terms of winning behind Shaq and Timmy. It was a big deal beating those Celtics though IMO. Underrated chip run.
