**** high school. When it ended I was all sentimental and sad about having a bad high school experiences and not a lot of great memories to look back on

The second i stepped foot in college I no longer gave any ****s about high school. **** that shit. It is the armpit of life. College is the best time ever. Make the most out of it and make it a time to remember 60 years later

I did have a fck it mentality also but that was mostly cause I was getting into colleges so I stopped caring about my grades at that point.

Try and do an internship for a couple periods. I would have 4 classes and then I'd either go home or drive to work (and my work was only 3 days a week) Made life a lot more chill and easy

As for bein a loser, doesn't matter anymore brah. You're going to college soon. Try and improve yourself tho. Goin to college won't automatically make you get laid. You still got be able to game. Use the rest of college to screw around and hit on all the b*tches you want. After this year, it doesn't even matter so you might as well go for it

Go talk to that chick who asked you to homecoming a few years back. You blew it then but you got your chance now

Jameer what makes you a loser?

If you have a 3.9 GPA like you say you do that's winning.
If you have college scholarship offers that's winning.

Once you get out of highschool you learn real quick that most of the "cool" people end up losers and all the "dorks" end up with good jobs, nice families and a nice house.

Also, a lot of people aren't very popular in highschool , then go away for college and are surprised to see how "popular" or accepted they are amongst their peers.

Look forward to college

does high school even matter anymore. also **** 4 year college unless u are in it for the partying. if you want to save money and are not gonna **** around with your education go to free CC and get ridiculously good grades (cuz it's easy as shit to at a CC) then transfer to whatever the **** you want to finish your last two years at a University. just my 2cents

This pretty much saves u 2 years worth of debt from a 4year uni

Yes but 2 years at CC would be boring and shitty plus you would be surrounded by CC losers. I'm at a 4 year and I couldn't imagine doing it any other way

i cant really relate, but my advice to you is hit the books hard and get a good college education.

youre black, so you will have lower requirements. this is not racist, this is just a fact of most american institutions.

unless you have rich parents, dont study a bullshit major, study something that employers are looking for - STEM.
I want to study computer science

College is amazing. My life ****ing sucked until I got here. My social life is incredible and it will never be better than it is now. If college was 6 years I wouldn't even be mad.

Just make friends and you are good. It is a completely different life in every way. Life is GOOD.

Not a surprise you dislike high school, you spend the majority of your time in the BTE rather than out socializing. Congratulations, you've set yourself up for a life long of loneliness and failure. Being young there's one truth, your life is elastic. Your **** ups are more forgiving so it allows kids to have the time of their lives, but you've ruined that opportunity.

Even if you have a 3.9 you will forever be that kid that seemed home schooled. The socially awkward dude that will forever be unhappy regardless of success. You keep bragging about your GPA as if it matters to anyone, i'm certain anyone here would take a 2.0 than have your upbringing and GPA.

In all honesty Fallen Angel should probably remove that post because you seem like the type that may actually do something like that.
I don't think I'm that socially awkward. Well, I am, but I just have terrible confidence issues. I don't really like going out of my bubble so I stay home and post on ISH all day. It isn't really as bad as it seems. Some people are just super introverted.

If he was a loner in HS he's going to be a loner in college. It's a matter of applying yourself in not just education but social atmospheres. How exactly do you expect a pedophile who hates women to have a good college experience.

Truth is, high school and his parents failed him. I wouldn't be surprised if i saw a Oslo type thing happen with him tbh. You really need to get help.

For me, high school was a breeze, it was a platform to increase your confidence so college came natural to me. I'm not saying i was popular or anything but i just found a way to spark conversations and maintain them with people which led to me form a click per se.

Maintaining a conversation is probably the most underrated skill to posses. You should practice it with people of all ages and sex. Even now i see certain coworkers feeling awkward in situations which is quite sad.

Nicely put highschool was very overrated.

Pretty much. Sophomore and Junior year were garbage. Senior year was the shit though. Don't know what the hell changed but girls started getting much friendlier, both in my class (all the girls used to go for the older guys) and the younger chicks.

But it's funny how time moves so much faster once you hit like 20+.

For Jam, May/June probably seems like an eternity away but I can honestly blink and miss like 3 weeks without even noticing. Time just flies now. I swear it was just June and the Summer just started. Now I'm thinking about getting sweaters/jackets for the fall.

Jam- if you really have a f*ck it attitude... go with that 100%. Just enjoy life as much as possible. I assume you already took the SATs, sent out college apps, etc. All the hard work is basically done or will be soon. Focus on making memories now.

It's called growing up? You can't just choose to leach off your parents. Bite the bullet and grow some balls.

If you need help with your emo tendancies, go seek a professional.

But for your sanity, don't give up. 20 years from now you will be even more depressed if you choose to drift...

:applause:

Figured this out too late myself. With how ridiculous college tuition is these days and student loan debts crippling people, I think most people will start doing this in the future. The local CC near me has poured a ton of money on revamping their campus, even adding dorms like a traditional four year school.

But it seems there's something holding him back big time from mingling with other people in real life

Socially awkward... ok, I can see that. But at a certain point don't you get comfortable with people you've been seeing for years almost daily?

I really wanna know why you're not out with friends doing shit. That would clear up your depression 100%

KingBeasley08
09-09-2015, 11:23 PM
And Jameer, when you're in college, make sure you join as many groups you can. Sign up for intramural basketball, some science org shit, and even the fcking anime club if you want.

So many people with all kinds of interests. High school forces you to talk to all the bums who live in your area but college is a whole different ballgame. Especially if you're going to Florida altho idk what your college plans are. Also work on public speaking skills. Fake it till you make it. If you pretend like you're confidant and smooth, eventually it becomes habit

Yeah he's into some weird shit, and I guess you make a good point.

He probably didn't play sports growing up which means he didn't make many friends in his formative years, so he never quite learned the art of socializing.

Which is mainly on his parents for not getting him into shit when he was younger.

What has happened in your life to make you this incapacitated? I know plenty of people who could easily fall into apathy like you, but don't.

The difference is you have a choice. You have I presume a mum and dad who will allow you to live at home as long as you need. You need some tough love, your spirit will die if you don't expand yourself. You will be safe and warm, but what's the point when you are already dead inside.

Im not even trying to sound like an asshole, you just post here non-stop and it gets the impression that you're a lonely ****. I even remember you asking guys in the BTE to help you find a car, lmao. If you wanna be considered "cool" in high school, go to social events, start meeting new people, make friends, and tell ISH it's time to spend time apart.

Yeah man, just know that it's high school and life will get better. High school in America seems pretty shit compared to other countries I feel like. Doesn't help that uniforms don't exist.

Best advice I can give you is choose your friends wisely. Don't make friends or try to keep being friends with ***** or dudes that treat you like shit. This is your last year to choose someone from your hometown to stay friends with. Think about all the people you've every interacted with and who you got a long with the most and treated you right. I knew I was going into the Marines my Junior year, so by senior year, I was on cruise control.

Scored a 26 on my ACT after my Freshman year, had plans to go to West Point, then I got really good at sports and kinda threw it all away (girls, drugs, skipping class).

So I enlisted anyway, even skipped my graduation to head to Parris Island. 6 months later I was in South America/Africa/Europe blowing shit up and training other countries soldiers.

Few years after that, I was doing the real thing in the Middle East.

Been rewarded by that contract ever since.

Being an adult is way cooler than being in high school, if you do it right. In the meantime, relax and enjoy having zero responsibilities.

Oh, and you want to know how many people I talk to on a weekly basis that I went to high school with?

If you're going to keep this attitude I suggest you go to a Community College. The one's here in Alabama are basically free, you can stay at home, and practically the only time you'll deal with people is class.

Personally, I think you should just get out more. If you go to a 4 year university like this you'll get no cooch and college will suck.
If you have the money just join a frat it's basically paying for friends, parties, and girls.

Or come here with me to the University of Alabama Jam Jam, I can show you the world.

Everyone is sick of school come their senior year, it's normal to rue the whole experience. Just know that college is 10x better, you'll actually enjoy attending class. First 2 years it's basically only 2 hours of school everyday, only 4 days a week. You get your sleep back, aren't stuck in school for 7 hours a day, have much more free time to actually do shit with other people, go to the beach or just have some alone time smokin the purp your classmate is selling from Colorodo. :pimp:

Chill, get through this year, it gets better.

All parts of your schooling life, whether it be high school or university, is pretty overrated. You just need to make connections with people down the road and then make your way through life.

hs was some of the best times of my life. you can't ever have that type of situation where you're stuck with others your own age every day in that bubble. college is completely different. nothing u do later will ever be like that again.

altho i get why some people would hate it. you'll probably be happier after HS with the freedom you get tbh and not be trapped in that every day.

i wish i could get a job with 21 Jumpstreet sometimes, thats how much i'd love to go back :pimp:

If you're going to keep this attitude I suggest you go to a Community College. The one's here in Alabama are basically free, you can stay at home, and practically the only time you'll deal with people is class.

Personally, I think you should just get out more. If you go to a 4 year university like this you'll get no cooch and college will suck.
If you have the money just join a frat it's basically paying for friends, parties, and girls.

Or come here with me to the University of Alabama Jam Jam, I can show you the world.

your experience there should at least tell you a lot about yourself

don't listen to people who say "it doesnt matter"

if you aren't thriving, it's for a reason. the least u can do is try to figure out why that is

even if you won't do anything about it, because maybe there isn't anything to do about it

but at least you'll know if your reasons are legit

I started playing basketball for one of the worst teams in the region but since my father was the owner of team i had to suit up for them 3 years.
The team consisted basically of troubled kids (introverts, parent problems, poor kids, etc) and that's why my father owned that team.

Most of the work that my father did was with introvert, socially inapt kids using basketball and most of the times the kids sucked but it opened their doors in terms of social ability.

My advice to you is find a thing that you REALLY like and do something social related to that, even if you suck at it. It will be great for you, you will get used to communicate and be with people not feeling too much pressure.

I can't remember one of those kids still playing basketball, even on recreative level but my dad keeps tracking of them and mostly succeed in their lifes.
You are 17 i guess, you are still in time to modify your personality you just need some area to interact more easily like you do here.

Start from somewhere.
Do you like sports? Go to the park and play pickup. You suck? **** it, just keep trying and people will notice you.
Do you like movies? Or books? Find a community online that has REAL meetings and try to sneak in.
Do you like video games and anime? Go to conventions.

It's going to be tough at first? Of course it will be.
But it's not as bad as you think if you know what you are doing, believe me.
Relax when you are with people, people understand when you are forcing things. Just be you, people will get you after some time hanging out with you.

Ohh and start gradually leaving the internet, gradually. Internet kills the society, it kills the way you talk with people and how you interact on real life.

And yes, go to your prom... even if you have to low your standards, some girl will definitelly appreciate the "ohh he's out of my league" and she's going to make your night remarkable.

Nature saved me when I was in highschool, I hated almost everyone, everyone was so spoiled and selfish and just not my kind of people, but being alone in the forest, or mountains, or anything really is great. I love being inside and watching tv too, but you gotta mix it up. I don't go out to clubs, **** people. You don't need people, and even if you had the best time ever in highschool, if you go to college you won't be friends with a damn one of 5 years later, for me it was almost immediate. I stopped going back to where I went highschool, I just stayed where I went to college. High school is shit, life is dope after. Party all you want, or don't, college is great

brah shit can done change, I still believe that there is baller potential in you. Keep the faith, lift weights, and keep talking to girls. You'll get it eventually

ALSO next time you should try to go to those dances. Lots of hookup and even bang potential at those things.

College will be better. Spend this summer getting healthy and do something that makes you confidence.

When you roll in to college, all of the rich white and asian bitches who had never seen a black man except on MTV will WORSHIP THE GROUND YOU WALK ON.

Just learn to dress semi-fashionable, and also act normal in social situations.

My suggested summer plan:
1. Work out
2. Talk to girls you think are cute
3. Practice an activity that gives you confidence (perhaps basketball?)
4. Get a part time job so you can afford some cooler clothes and get $$$
5. Try to get laid or at least kiss a girl. Go to events and parties where girls are. Even if the girl is a chub, or a 5, if you have a chance to hook up with her do it. This will be a confidence booster, and when you get to college you won't feel like a virginy noob.

Women care so much about appearance as men do, if not more. If you walk in to your college intro seminar a fashionable looking cool dude, and if you can handle yourself in a social situation without coming off as a weirdo, you will absolutely SLAY the rich college girls that you are going to be surrounded by at university.

Good luck my friend. ISH still supports you.

I always wanted to go to U Michigan and I know a handful of grads form there. Each and every one of them told me it was one of the best choices they made. Great academics, great school spirit, and I've heard the nightlife/town surrounding the school was also a blast. But I also know people who went to commuter based schools nearby and didn't enjoy college nearly as much.
