I don't think kobe beef tastes all that special, personally.

So I'd hang out with Kobe. I dont have a prob with him just as a dude. Hes just not top 15 all time in basketball, period, that's all. But it's all good, not like I hate him for that. Vast majority of players in history dont have the impact Lebron, MJ, Kareem, Shaq, Duncan, Magic etc have. Cant actually hate Kobe as a person just bc he doesnt come close to those guys in impacting basketball games.

I doubt many people here have even eaten "REAL" kobe beef before...
In fact getting access to it outside Japan is very difficult and in fact depending on where you are in Japan it can still be difficult to get. As Kobe is actually the place in Japan that the meat is produced.. The further you get away from there the more rare it becomes... There are countless "rip offs " out there of the meat that aren't Kobe beef at all.
I was in Japan around 18 months ago and travelled to Osaka and Kyoto (City very close to Kobe) and I had real Kobe beef there... To buy real Kobe beef in Japan is around USD$350 per pound so again if your paying a price significantly lower than this it will be a ripoff

In saying that the beef itself was something I will never forget.. Absolutely amazing and never tried anything like it.. And I have eaten a lot of expensive cuts out there including wagyu grade 9+.

I would prefer to eat Kobe beef just once than spend any time with Kobe...
