So I'm listening to this Shaq-Kobe podcast for the first time and they mentioned the 15-1 run they had in the 2001 Playoffs

And it's never really hit me until I just heard em speaking about it

Like 15-1 in the Playoffs is INSANE :wtf:

Do you ever see another team going on that kind of run? Shaq reckons it won't be broken for at least another 30 years, I gotta agree

1-8 Shaq against Utah Jazz.

Trolling aside, yes that Lakers team was insanely dominant and Shaq had one of the all time greatest runs himself.

Just that this kind of record doesn't happen if Shaq had played against any prime time 90s center. There wasn't any competition at the center position at all in those years.

Cavs may sweep the East and take 4 losses to the west this year which will be the closest thing we will see to it.

2/7 :applause:

He went up against the DPOY center in the finals. He went up against Tim Duncan and DRob (both all-stars that year). He went up against Chris Webber and Vlade Divac (both all stars that year). He went up against Rasheed Wallace (all-star) and Sabonis (all time great)

Probably the most impressive playoff run of all time. Have to give Kobe a ton of credit too.

This.

People here have all sorts of agendas though. That user in particular thought Kobe wasn't part of the teams that lost to Utah. :oldlol:

And that one loss took overtime and a heroic effort from Allen Iverson. Easily the best game of his career.

What often gets overlooked is the Lakers were going into the playoffs with some great momentum. They had won 8 straight games to end the regular season, so combine that with their perfect record before game 1 of the Finals... they had won 19 games in a row and 23 of their final 24 games to end the year.

Really impressive stuff.

And the only L they took was from AI in a pretty subpar shooting night(even for his standards). Would have been nice if C-Webb could've somehow came earlier. AI-Webb-Mutumbo:wtf:

On topic tho GOAT playoff run. Probably won't happen again unless Lebron Kyrie and Love go crazy and dominate this weak East.
