I know the internet is obsessed with ranking things and people, but sometimes theres no reasonable basis for picking one over the other.

In this case theyre pretty much equal in their importance. Theres no need to force one of them into some sole GOAT designation.

Both all time players. Russell has a defender, rebounder, and leader. Bird for his offense, high I.Q., leadership, and underrated defense. I'd take Bird. That type of talent doesn't come around often. I think Bird could make a "good" center better and his other teammates even playing as a true SF.
